LENT BEINGS ON FEBRUARY 10, 2016 The Season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb-ruary 10, 2016. Masses on Ash Wednesday will be celebrated at 9:00 AM, 12:10 PM, 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM. Ashes will be distributed at the conclusion of each Mass. LENTEN REGUATIONS: DAYS OF FAST AND AB-STINENCE- Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of Fast and Abstinence. Only one full meal for those 18-59 years of age. DAYS OF ABSTINENCE - All Fridays of Lent All who have reached their 14th birthday are bound to abstain totally from meat on Fridays during the Len-ten Season. EASTER DUTY- For those who have received their First Holy Communion are obliged to confess their sins and receive Holy Communion at least once dur-ing the year. This obligation should be fulfilled during the Lenten and Easter Seasons.
CONFESSIONS DURING LENT - We announce at this time that during the Lenten Season, Confessions will be heard every Monday evening from 6 PM to 7PM in every church of the Archdiocese of Hartford. We welcome those who have not received the Sacra-ment in a while back to the Church to experience God’s Mercy and Forgiveness during this Year of Mercy.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS DURING LENT - The Stations of the Cross will be celebrated each Friday evening begin-ning at 7:00 P.M. The Stations of the
Cross will begin on Friday, February 12, 2016.
CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL COLLECTION The second collection next weekend is the Catholic High School Collection. This collection will benefit St. Paul Catholic High School.
2015 TAX STATEMENTS Tax statements will be sent to those who have con-tributed $100 or more for the calendar year of 2015. Statements will be mailed during the month of Janu-ary.
A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE Jesus’ question in today’s gospel is still valid today: “What are you looking for?” What do you want from your spouse, children or parents? Families are popu-lated with imperfect people. To expect perfection is unreal. To expect and accept imperfection is wis-dom.
CRAFT FAIR WRAP UP MEETING Craft Fair Wrap up and comments meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 20th at 7pm in Rosary Hall. Anyone interested in the details of the Craft Fair financials or who has constructive comments con-cerning the 2015 fair is encouraged to attend. Ques-tions, contact Ginny DeLuzio at 860-584-8050.
