A Note from the Pastor: Is it just me, or is the number of second collections getting to be out of control? I think we
have way too many of them. To remedy this situation, we need to remember that we are a
stewardship parish, meaning that we support the mission of the Archdiocese of Miami and the
greater Church.
We will now simply have the monthly second collection for parish ministries and capital im-
provements. There are three other times during the year when we must have a second collec-
tion: the annual SAFE fund, ABCD and the Mission Cooperative. As for the other appeals
that come from the Conference of Catholic Bishops, you can contribute to those with the enve-
lope you receive with the regular parish envelopes. You can just place these appeal envelopes in
the first (usually only) collection. Thanks to everyone for your cooperation.
