PREsENTAtion PLAN
The idea to organize SeaZone came about a few years ago. Participation in international conferences
only intensified the feeling that it is a good and, most importantly, a necessary project.
During the first edition we wanted to conquer as many schedules, plans and beaten tracks as possible as
well as to discuss interesting events and case studies, instruct, suggest and teach, and connect
environments which it would seem, do not match each other. It is an opportunity to gather knowledge, find
inspiration and experience unique emotions in one place, in a short time, that would usually take many
months or even years. Polish musicians have much to offer, but the lack of local and direct contact with so
many personalities within the music industry means that they cannot use their full potential. Therefore,
panels, workshops, lectures and demonstrations of equipment were the essence of this three-day meeting
held in prestigious locations and public places like the Sheraton Hotel in Sopot, the National Gallery of Art,
and the Gallery of Dwie Zmiany and others.
2016 edition
We invited a sizeable group of not only Polish but also foreign visitors who are both key and important
for the development of broadly defined electronic music and alternative music, as well as the
promoters, organizers and managers not directly related to the music industry. It was they who
assured knowledge and practical experience which is difficult to achieve in such a quantity and such a
short time.
Artists were another strength of our meeting and thus there were events and concerts which were held in
almost every point of Sopot, from "Monciak" at the bottom to the legendary Opera Leśna (Forest Opera).
The first edition of SeaZone Music & Conference is the beginning of the implementation of the idea
of sharing knowledge and good partying at the Polish seaside. From here you can only sail on further to
a career. We have the appetite that SeaZone shall become a project implemented cyclically, which will fill
the gap of this type of activity in this part of Europe.
2016 edition
WHERE
A music conference in Sopot? Where else! This city has several clubs that effectively work on their own
unique identity, attracting artists and DJs from both Poland and abroad. Sopot also has a glorious history of
festivals, even those held in the Forest Opera, where the world's top and Polish artists have appeared.
WHAT
SeaZone is the window to the world providing the opportunity of fulfillment and development in the music
industry. It presents a number of ways that can be pursued using electronic tools and its own ingenuity to
be a better DJ, producer, artist, promoter, organizer, an effective business partner or even a musician
pursuing the forms of advertising, accompaniments and audio tracks.

WHY
The idea for this type of conference is the result of the excellent condition of Polish music and the growing
recognition of recipients from abroad. Over the past few years, Polish producers, DJs and promoters have
visited events such as the Winter Music Conference in Miami, International Music Summit in Ibiza
and Amsterdam Dance Event in order to exchange experiences and establish new contacts. Currently,
SeaZone provides this possibility literally at your fingertips, because the conference centre, clubs and
stages are short-distance walks apart.
FOR WHOM
The project is primarily addressed to managers, promoters, DJs, musicians, club owners, agencies, music
event organizers as well as all those whose activities the industry is simply interested in and are not
necessarily linked to it professionally.

WHO
The Portobello Group is the initiator and creator of the project. The company groups together several event
spaces, restaurants, production and PR companies. They are the author of dozens of prestigious events, all
of which can be mentioned, among others, Big Boat Party, H & M Loves Music, Snow Music Show Madonna di
Campiglio, Lotto Music Factory Batycki Art. & Business Meeting, The View Warsaw and many others.

Meetings were held between February and May in 13 cities in Poland as part of promoting the conference
in which we stated what SeaZone is about and encouraged participation in the conference. Club events
were held after each meeting.

The first edition of the SeaZone Music & Conference brought together nearly 700 people, including
almost 200 artists and speakers.
Panels were held alongside each other at four locations on the first day and at three locations on the
second day and were devoted to the organization and security of events, issues and business manage-
ment, marketing, management and promotion of artists, contacts with record companies and the role
of radio and television in music. There were plenty of nostalgic chats and cultural workshops for
musicians, producers and DJs, including presentation of equipment and technology.
The event, although for the "industry", has attracted recognizable media journalists, such as Gabi
Drzewiecka, Lukasz Napora, Puoteck, Roman Rogowiecki, Jarek Janiszewski, Bartek Winczewski and
Novika, neeValda, Martin Bąkiewicz, the crew of Polish Radio Four and Radio Gdansk who have been
supporting the project from the very beginning.

However, it is not only the radio and television fraternity or those related to the music industry who have
been involved in conference meetings. We have hosted names such as Mikołaj Stroiński and Marcin
Przybyłowicz who are responsible for the music for the Wedźmin III game, managers like Piotr Rogowski,
Pawel Gruba and wonderful women related to cultural promotion such as Anna Ceynowa from the Ministry
of Cultural Heritage and Anna Pruszynska representing the Co Jest Grane 24 music trade fair.
A group of more than 20 foreign speakers and personalities that have been creating the global music
business over the years were the unquestionable strength of the first edition of SeaZone Music
& Conference.

There were club events for guests beyond the daily activities and lectures, including the Forest Opera with
the Brodka and Krzysztof Zalewski concert. Klub Scena was another concert venue where Caliber 44
and Wspólna Scena played as well as the TAN club, in which songs from the new album "BANG!" were
presented by Reni Jusis. However, they were not the only performers of SeaZone Music & Conference 2016,
as Fair Weather Friends, JOGA and xxanaxx performed their DJ sets at night clubs, and there was a whole
galaxy of Polish DJ celebrities representing completely different styles like house (Adamus, neeVald,
Matush, Mr. Root, Seb Skalski), techno/house (Klaves, Łukasz Napora, bshosa, Simon Matthson), funk &
breakz (Novika, Harper, Bert, Envee), EDM (Adam de Great, Fafaq, Gromee, Skytech) and many more.
In contrast, the culmination of club events were such names of foreign guests like Martin Eyerer, Tom Novy,
Superpitcher, Philipp Straub, Reinchard Voight, Dave Mayer, Nookie.

Red Bull Sound School was one of the
interesting workshops of this year's
SeaZone project.

nates were able to expand their know-
ledge, technical skills and learn about
new software and hardware solutions at
these meetings. The meeting was
hosted by Mr Krime and FALCON1 from
the school of DJ SPINLAB.

Krime has been a renowned DJ and a
graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy
in Dublin since the year 2000, which for
years shared their adept knowledge of
the art of DJing. Falcon1 has been
Polish Champion of the IDA federation
and for several years has run the
Warsaw school of SPINLAB with DJ
Kebs, which is a long-term partner of
Red Bull Sound School.

In addition, Steve Nash - the project
leader of the Turntable Orchestra and
brand ambassador of Ableton Polska
introduced the students to the secrets
of working with Ableton Live on stage.
He presented a special live set, which
he then spread to the prime factors
revealing the mechanisms of produc-
tion. Five hands-on Ableton Live + PUSH
