2019 FSASE Summer ConferenceMay 19 – 23, 2019Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort Hilton
Welcome To Volusia County!
I would like to take the opportunity to extend to you a great big welcome to Volusia County. We hope you will be able to take advantage of the many things our county has to offer.
More than 500,000 people call Volusia County home. Our 47 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches are a world-class playground. Early automotive pioneers such as Louis Chevrolet and Henry Ford enjoyed their time in the sun and found that the hard-packed sand, gentle slope and wide expanse of beach was the perfect proving ground for early auto racing. The City of Ormond Beach is known as the “Birthplace of Speed”. The racing tradition continues today at Daytona International Speedway.
Along with our beautiful beaches, the scenic St. Johns River links magnificent parks with wildlife preserves along the county’s western border. True southern charm can be found in DeLand, the county seat (my home town). This city features an award-winning downtown filled with antique shops and quaint restaurants surrounded by historic homes and buildings.
