Alternative fall break was a celebration of her 100th birthday and the accomplishments she made in her lifetime.
Impact of Going CoastalBy actually getting our “hands dirty” and seeing first-
hand the array of garbage in the marsh, we realized the difference just a few hours of clean-up with just a small group can actually do for the environment. 40+ bags of trash accumulated in just under two hours.Soda cans, fireworks, wrappers, oyster netting, a flip
flop, just to name a few. Some good came out of it: A baby terrapin turtle caught
in the netting was released! ‘Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find
reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts”- Rachel Carson
