Celebration Corner

Week 2, Term 2 Tena koutou katoa A huge thanks to the parents, teachers and support staff who attended the Conquering Dyslexia with Andria Studman last week. We are now in the process of seeking funding to help run a six week course for teachers/support staff and parents that will then allow us to help children at our school. If you are a parent, or community member and would like to be trained so you can volunteer and support others with a wide range of Dyslexia please let me know. Most winter sports start this weekend, all the best to all the teams. If we have the draws for games before Tuesday we will put them into the school newsletter. If you have any questions or issues please see your child's coach/manager first. If the issue is not resolved please make contact with the “Sports Committee” by emailing [email protected]. It is important that we find out how everyone has gone over the weekend with any sports/ events so we can put it in the newsletter. At Monday's assembly we celebrate the success of all individuals and teams, we do ask that one person from each team gets up at assembly to share who they played against, the score and who was the player of the day. I appreciate the parents who have given up time to coach or manage a team. There are still a few more spaces in sports for children. A huge thanks to the sports committee who have worked really hard to get the teams set up. Our Year 7/8’s are out at a careers expo on Wednesday the 16th of May to learn about different roles and what possible future careers they might be able to do. They will be looking at what subjects at High School they will need to be doing to get ready for the specific career. Ngā mihi nui Gary Veysi
