Week 4, Term 2 Tena koutou katoa Well done to everyone involved with the “Mamaku Possum Challenge” this year. It was an amazing effort by everyone on the Sports Committee, teachers and and Home and School. With your support this has been the best Possum Challenge we have had so far. An extra thanks to Josh Goodman and Cam Hancox from Rotorua Canopy Tours who helped MC the Possum Challenge. Thanks to Darryn Dodge who at the last moment jumped in to run the Auction. We had 25 teams enter the Possum Challenge this year that eliminated 614 possums, 101 Wallabies and 86 Rabbits and Hares from the environment . This is great news as we fundraise to help get more kids into sports at our school and also improve our environment We also had some fantastic art work and technology projects completed by the students. My highlights were the students who completed technology projects like the bird houses, bird feeders, pest scarers and invented some cool projects related to keeping our native animals (fauna) and trees (flora) safe from pests. The work will be up for this week in the hall for viewing if you were unable to make the possum challenge prize giving and the prizes for students will go out on Friday. Ngā mihi nui Gary Veysi
