Made For All
What is it?
Phonak Audéo B-Direct is the first Made For All (MFA) hearing aid from Phonak to provide direct connectivity to any cell phone* without wearing a body worn streamer. Direct streaming of phone calls turns Audéo B-Direct into wireless headsets. The client’s voice is picked up by the hearing aid microphones and then streamed to the phone. With own voice pickup, clients can truly have real hands-free conversations.
Hands-Free Calls With Own Voice Pickup
Why use it?
Real hands-free calling benefits to your clients:• Clients can hear the phone ringing in their hearing aids and answer the
call without having to touch their phone.• The caller’s voice is streamed directly from the cell phone into
the Audéo B-Direct.• Own voice pickup detects the client’s voice and transmits it back
to the cell phone.
Clients benefit from ease of use and convenience. They can conduct a phone conversation without holding the phone, which gives them the freedom to perform other tasks.
How to use it?
Once programmed in Phonak Target 5.2 or later, Audéo B-Direct is ready to pair directly to any cell phone*. Once paired, a short press on the hearing aid push button will accept and stream the call directly into the hearing aid. During the call, environmental balance can be used to adjust the streamed signal volume against the surrounding environment volume via the hearing aid push button. The call can be ended either traditionally on the phone or if the phone is not at hand, a long press on the push button.
What is it?
The TV Connector is the easy plug and play streamer that directly connects Phonak Audéo B-Direct hearing aids to any TV or media player without the need of a body worn streamer. With AirStream Technology, the new Phonak proprietary 2.4 GHz streaming protocol, TV Connector offers a direct audio streaming from a broad range of TV and audio equipment in excellent stereo sound quality to Audéo B-Direct.
TV Connector
Why use it?
Benefits to your clients:• No body worn streamer required.• Transforms Audéo B-Direct hearing aids into wireless stereo headsets.• Easy plug and play setup.• Provides high quality speech and music from any audio source.• Environmental balance can be used to adjust the volume of the streamed
signal or surrounding environmental sounds.• Unique advantage of connecting multiple listeners simultaneously to the
same audio signal.• Up to 80 hours of TV listening with one hearing aid battery.
How to use it?
The TV Connector is plug and play right out of the box to any TV with optical or 3.5mm interfaces. The hearing aids are automatically paired to the TV Connector when it is first powered on. To connect multiple listeners, a one-time push on the TV Connector pairing button will connect any hearing aids within 1m (3ft). Turn the TV on and when the client is within range (15m/49ft) of the TV Connector, streaming begins automatically.
What is it?
Environmental balance is a volume modification capability in Phonak Audéo B-Direct hearing aids that allows clients to adjust the volume of the streamed signal versus the surrounding environmental sounds by the press of the volume control.
Environmental Balance
Why use it?
Environmental balance benefits for your clients:• 30dB* signal-to-noise improvement of the streamed signal over the
surrounding environment sounds.• A comfortable listening environment when streaming.• Easy access via hearing aid push button, the volume controls of the
phone (during a phone call) or the Phonak Remote app (while watching television).
How to use it?
The client has access to Environmental balance as soon as the hearing aids enter a streaming program. Adjustment can be made to emphasize either the streamed signal or the environmental sounds based on the individual listening need. By default, pressing the push button on the right hearing aid focuses more on the streamed signal and less on the surrounding environmental noise. Pressing the push button on the left hearing aid focuses more on the surrounding environment and less on the streamed signal. During a phone call environmental balance can also be accessed via the volume control buttons on the cell phone. In the case of watching TV, the client has easy access to an adjustment slider via the Phonak Remote app.
