THE INEXPRESSIBLE MYSTERY
The God of the universe is mysterious. Science has not been able to solve the mystery of how the
universe came into being or explain exactly what continues to give it creative energy and masterful
design. No religion asserts that it has found words to name fully the ineffable mystery of God, for no
matter what name we use, God always transcends our limited ability to understand. God is a mys-
tery to be believed, not known. And yet, we Christians believe that our name for God best expresses
that inexpressible mystery: God is the Most Holy Trinity of three persons united in a communion of
love, pouring forth that creative, saving, sanctifying love into the world. To-
day’s scriptures celebrate the mystery of the Trinity and give us clues for living
that mystery in our lives. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Month 8: Thank You from your Spiritually Adopted Baby:
Now I am
finishing my

concentrating
on gaining

mother
uncomfortable with my size. For some time now
I have recognized my mother’s voice. In a short
time, I will be born. On behalf of mom and me,
thank you for your prayers for the past eight
months. It has not been easy, but your prayers
have given her the grace she needed to make
the right choices.

The PRESENT is the only time you have to merit Heaven and escape Hell. The PAST you cannot recall, and of the FUTURE, you are not sure. Be sure to use the present well and decide daily whether you wish to be in Heaven or in Hell. ------ Baltimore Catechism No. 4, #421
Many Catholics forget that the purpose of Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation is reconciliation, not punishment. We focus on the scary part of facing weaknesses and admitting our failings to another being, but confession is just one part of the Sacrament. What is so GREAT about this Sacrament is that God longs to forgive us and offers this chance to directly experience his unending mercy and forgiveness. A RESTORATION TO INTEGRITY: Through it, we are freed from guilt. When we approach the Sacrament with a contrite heart, a desire to make amends, and a determination to change, we become transformed. We can leave remorse behind and live a new life. It is this Sacrament that enable us to again hold our heads as children of God. A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH GOD:
created by Jesus, this is a celebration of our Father’s unconditional love and a chance to acquire the grace we need to meet future challenges and temptations.
