Please continue to pray for Catherine and Arthur Lewis and all of the people who have remembered Our Lady of Peace Parish so generously in their estates.

Jubilee Year Of MercY
This Is UnacceptableToday, unfortunately, the speculative economy makes the poor ever poorer, depriving them of the essentials, such as housing and employment. This is unacceptable! Those who live solidarity don’t accept it, and they take action.
And this word, “solidarity,” many people want to eliminate it from the dictionary, because some cultures see it as a bad word. No! Solidarity is a Christian word! And this is why you are the family of the homeless, friends of disabled persons, who – when loved – express great humanity.Pope Francis, Address to the Sant’ Egidio Community, June 15, 2014.
REFLECTION: How can you be in solidarity with the poor? Are you willing to open your eyes and really see the poverty in your area? Are you willing to consider how you can serve?(Our Sunday Visitor)

A Special Mother’s Day Gift Mother’s Day will again be the focus of the Christ Child Society of Columbus’ annual Layette Fund Drive. Our members assemble a gift package of baby care items. Each layette contains a sleep sac, receiving blanket and/or handmade quilt, sleepers, onesies, a bottle, diapers, wipes, bib, book, towel and washcloth, and educational material about infant care for new mothers. Last year, 1,700 layettes were distributed to needy mothers and their babies throughout Central Ohio. A layette can be purchased in honor of (or in memory of) your mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister or friend. A personalized Mother’s Day card announcing your thoughtful gift will be sent to your honoree or to her family (in memory of). Also, a card bearing the name of your honoree (or in memory of) will be inserted in one of our layettes. To order a layette, send the name and address of the honoree or her family (in memory of) and a check ($35.00 for each layette) payable to Christ Child Society of Columbus. Please send the order by April 25, 2016, to Layette Fund Chair, Christ Child Society of Columbus, P.O. Box 340091, Columbus, OH 43234-0091. Questions: contact Theresa at 614-457-9409.Thank you for your generous support of this important service project.
