Dear Mr. Pottinger:Just a few lines to say hello and

at the siame time letting you knowmy new address.

Mr. Pottinger if my brother isstill taking The International lethim know that I said that I hope tomeet him someplace.

One thing that I wish for him is

that he would hit the States if heisn’t there now so that he could geta' leave home. When I got off ofleave I wasn't even given a chanceto unlash my stuff before I gotshipped out of Diego.

Some of the fellows that I’ve methere are some of those with whomI went through boot camp, but nonefrom Nogales.

Well. Mr. Pottinger. I guess I’dbetter close ’cause I’ve never beenable to write a long letter.

Regards to Nogales and all thepeople there. >

    Sincerely.JOE D. AVILES S 1/c{Scouting Squadron 4-7c/o Fleet Post OfficeSan Francisco. Calif.

Mr. Craig PottingerNogales. ArizonaDear Mr. Pottinger:

Just a few lines to let you knowI am fine and to wish this letterreaches you enjoying the best.

I hadn’t written sooner because Ididn’t want to give you an addresswhich would delay my mail in com-ing to me but I have been back inthe United States for nearly amonth now. I landed on May 27.

I had been abroad over a yearand was sure glad when I learnedmy destination was good old U.S.A.

I just received a letter from mymother by which Iknow my brotherJoe was home on leave. I was gladto hear this since I was never ableto go home since I joined the Navy.I put in for leave from here but itwas rejected. I guess maybe some-day I may have a chance to gohome for a few days, as God and Iknow how I’d like a chance to see

the old place and the folks.Washington is swell—l never have

enjoyed any place better. MaybeI've been gone too long, but I guessany place where they have whitewomen with shoes on is O.K.

I just wanted to give you my newaddress so that I may get my In-ternationals. I sure have missed’em. I haven’t had any since I wasdischarged from the Naval Hospitalin Pearl Harbor. >

    Yours very truly.E. R. AVILES S 1/c U.S.N.R. Ship. P.S.N.Y.Bremerton, Washington

Dear Mr. Pottinger:Only a few lines to let you know

fmy new address. lam now at Ad-vanced School, and I hope I get mywings soon, for I heard that in thisschool they don’t wash a cadet out.at least not if they can help it. soI am crossing' my fingers and tryingmy darnedest.

I told my Mom to tell you aboutmy change in address, but maybethey didn’t get around to it. for thelast I heard of them they were get-ting ready to go to California, sojust in case they didn’t tell you, this is it:

    Av/c Sammy CisnerosAviation Cadet DetachmentA.A.A.F. 43-HAltus, Oklahoma

I have been receiving the Interna-tional pretty regularly and I enjoyit very much, for as I said before inmy other letter that reading thepaper is the only way for me tolearn what is going on in my hometown. And it also gives me infor-mation of how some of the fellowsI went to school with are doing inthe various branches of the Army.

I am planning to put in for in-structor, or to be a pilot in a trans-port. I hope I get either.

Well, I guess I’ll close now. Re-gards to dear old Nogales and its

    I people.Sincerely, yours till victory,

    ! SAMMY
