As an explorer and entrepreneur, I have had countless wonderful
experiences in my life. In October, 2004, I was able to watch as
SpaceShipOne sailed into history, winning the Ansari X PRIZE, that I
supported with my family. On September 18, 2006, I joined the crew of
Soyuz TMA-9 to travel to the International Space Station, becoming the
first female private spaceflight participant. I have led numerous
corporations, non-profit organizations, and programs focused on
education and social entrepreneurship to improve the quality of life for
everyone on this pale blue dot we call home.
I am excited to have joined the Founding Board of the Night Rover
Challenge. This is an amazing program not only for its technological
promise, but also because of its educational potential. The Night Rover
team share's my passion for education and has laid out an impressive
strategy to engage students around the world in science, technology,
entrepreneurship and innovation.
I invite you to join me in supporting the Night Rover Challenge.
