Success By 6 WeekMay 4th-12th 2013
Take the time, make the moments matter™
Children’s most crucial period of development takes place when they are really young – from conception to age 6. Physical growth, emotional attachments, attitudes, behaviours, language and motor skills all develop at this time.
Many factors can influence children’s early years, and their impact can last a lifetime. Spending positive time with children, even just for short periods, can have long-lasting effects. Talking, singing, playing, or just saying a friendly hello can stimulate and influence how children grow and develop. Research indicates that these few minutes can literally make a lifetime of difference.

Success By 6 Week is a fun-filled week of events and activities designed with the youngest members of our community in mind.
This annual event aims to increase public awareness about the importance of early childhood learning and care. Officially proclaimed by the City of Kingston, and the counties of Frontenac and Lennox & Addington, Success By 6 Week provides opportunities for families, caregivers, friends and neighbours to "take the time and make the moments matter” with the young children in their lives.
During this week, from May 4th to 12th, there are a number of free and low-cost activities that encourage simple family fun. Free movies and swims, fun & interactive activities at local museums, celebrity story time readings, yoga for tots and much more.
The time from conception to age 6 is a period of crucial development. This is the period when a child’s physical growth, emotional attachments, attitudes, behaviours, language and motor skills develop. Success By 6 reminds people in our community about the importance of early childhood learning and making children a priority in our community.
