Welcome to our price list of wheels, kilns & studio equipment. The products we offer have been selected with care and attention to detail and we are sure you will find them all to have the quality you would desire at a price that is extremely competitive. At Clayman Supplies Limited we are passionate about ceramics and we have been for the last thirty years from our inception. We believe using the best quality aids should make the job easier or the end product better. We are also passionate about the service we give our customers. Simply, we aim to be the best.

Clayman Supplies Limited started life as Nyetimber Pottery Supplies. Reg Griggs had set up a small studio pottery, and when asked by local people if they could buy the odd bag of clay, ventured into supplying more goods. Within six months of trading it was deemed that a more appropriate name was required and Clayman was chosen as the most apt for the man who sold clay. Reg now has eighteen years’ experience teaching pottery and over thirty years potting in a full or part-time capacity. Over that time he has absorbed ceramic knowledge like a sponge and now spends each day offering technical support to amateurs and professionals alike. Having taught and worked as a professional potter he can offer advice that is applicable to the enquiry he is dealing with at any one time.

Linda Griggs started life as a practice manager for a group of doctors. For more than 20 years she has brought that desire for detail and efficiency to running the accounts and despatch sides of Clayman Supplies Limited. She also brings that personal touch to dealing with customers who visit our “Potters’ Shop” or who telephone with orders. Clayman Supplies Limited started in a small way, but it has not lost the belief that all customers are important. Service is a term that we grew up with and still want to practise on an every day basis.

7135 - BAILEY Low-Format WHEEL

The Bailey Wheel offers the studio and professional potter a wheel of unparalleled performance and versatility in a compact and user friendly design. This wheel has been

designed to complement a European style of throwing with the wheel head set at a greater height than most wheels of this style allowing a more comfortable throwing position.

The wheel is powered by a super smooth 1/2hp drive that is controlled by a computer enhanced VF drive that due to its

unique design can generate up to the peak equivalent of 1Hp under heavy loads this enables the wheel to give constant

smooth power throughout the speed range and is extremely quiet in operation . The Bailey Wheel has a large one piece splash tray and can also be supplied with numerous options

The composition and structure of cones is such that they bend and deform when subjected to heat for a period of time, (i.e. their operation is dependent upon “heat work” and not upon temperature only. They are graded according to the amount of heat they will withstand and are placed upright in holders in the kiln where they can be viewed from the spy hole. Since their deformation characteristics mirror the maturing characteristics of the ceramic products being fired, cones provide an outstanding method of indicating heat work carried out during a firing. It is usual to use a set of three consecutive cones: one to bend below the optimum firing point, one at the optimum firing point and one above. Orton Pyro-bars are supplied for use in kiln-sitters and mirror similar characteristics to that of cones.

Delivery Notes

We have tried to minimize the cost of delivery by using nationwide carrier and pallet delivery services. Carrier delivery is normally made by 1500kg or 1750kg vehicles (this cannot be guaranteed). Pallet delivery will be via 10 ton lorries (again this cannot be guaranteed).

IF ACCESS IS RESTRICTED OR CANNOT BE MADE BY LORRY WE MUST BE ADVISED IMMEDIATELY AS A SPECIAL VEHICLE MAY BE REQUIRED.

This option may not be available in all areas! Delivery prices are for delivery to the nearest practicable point to the customer’s premises and off-load. The drivers or their companies are not insured to carry goods into customer’s premises or store. It is the customers responsibility from the point of off-loading. Delivery prices for kilns and equipment are quotable on receipt of site information. Please call for details. Some products, such as casting slips and kiln batts may need additional or special packaging. We will always advise at point of ordering if this applies.

ECONOMY CARRIER NATIONWIDE

This is a delivery service based on your order reaching you within 3 working days from date of despatch. Normally goods need a signature to be left. If you are not at home at the time of delivery our carrier will leave a card and you will need to call your local depot to re-arrange the delivery. If you know you will not be in on the day of delivery we can instruct our carrier to leave your goods in a safe place. You must be aware though by taking this option you are accepting total liability for your order.

PRIORITY CARRIER NATIONWIDE

This service applies to all Fastway deliveries to PO and SO Postcodes only. The EPS, EPM, and EPL services provided by Fedex nationally are also Next-Day as standard. These orders are despatched for delivery on the next working day. The same system for signature etc applies.

RETURNS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

Returns for goods with a shelf life, such as plaster, are accepted only if the goods are damaged or faulty and must be returned within 7 days from receipt. All other good need to be returned within 30 days of receipt and in original, complete and undamaged packaging. If the item has not been returned to us in fully resaleable condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund. Please note any postage incurred by returning the item(s) to us will not be refunded nor will the original cost of delivery, unless in the case of damaged, faulty or goods mistakenly shipped.

DAMAGED GOODS

All orders must be checked immediately and delivery notes/dockets must be marked accordingly if any damage is detected. When any parcels are opened after the carrier has left your premises and any items are found to be damaged we must be notified within 48 hours of delivery of your order. After this time we are unable to make a claim against our carriers.

ORDERS & DELIVERIESGoods are sent out on a daily basis via national carriers and a pallet delivery service. Carriage/ delivery is not included in the price of our goods. Our competetive rates for delivery are published in the Delivery Rates section at the back of this price list.

Our aim is to process all orders received immediately. All orders (with the exception of equipment that are available to order only) placed or received before midday will be despatched the same day via a next working day or three working day service. You can specify your preference. Any orders received or placed after midday are despatched by the next working day. If we are unable to fulfil this aim, because of lack of stock or excess of orders we will advise you and advise when your goods should be available for despatch.

Turn right at the first of the mini roundabouts, you will be in a road called Chalcraft Lane. Drive the length of Chalcraft Lane until you come to another roundabout. Turn right, drive for half a mile. You will find a sign on your right for Park Farm. Turn into the lane. There are no signs indicating Clayman Supplies Limited. When you have turned you are in Park Lane, we are situated at the end.

6. NON-DELIVERY/ PARTIAL LOSSIn the event customers must give notice in writing to the carrier and ourselves within 24 hours of receipt of goods.

7. DAMAGEIf possible, goods should be examined in the presence of the deliveryman and if any package appears damaged, the consigment/ delivery note should be endorsed accordingly. Customers must advise the carrier in writing of any damage within 24 hours of delivery and present a detailed claim to the carrier within seven days of delivery, with copies to ourselves.

9. LIABILITYWe accept no liability for death, injury or damage if any kind whether to person or property arising out or in connection with any material, goods or services by us.

10. OWNERSHIPThe ownership of goods bought shall not pass to the Purchaser until the Purchaser has paid to the Company the total purchase price, including VAT, in respect of said goods.
