GMO-laboratoriotestin kulku
• Test is based on the detection and amplification of gene regions specific for GMOs (35S promoter and NOS terminator), and not present in native plants.
• 90 % of the GMOs that have been commercialised up to date present this specific regions.
• 35S promoter of the cauliflower mosaic virus. The promoter serves as adocking site for RNA polymerase and a signal for where it should start transcribing a gene.
• Terminator of the nopaline synthase (NOS) gene of Agrobacterium tumefaciens (Gram-negative bacteria). The terminator is the signal to stop transcription.
