o Thoroughlywatertheground18inchesfromtheperimterofthebuilding,andtreesandshrubssurroundingthestructure.Thiswillhelpcreateaseal.Itdoesnotguaranteeplantswillnotbeexposedtothefumigantwhichmayseepthroughthesoil,butitwillprovidealayerofprotectiontoexteriorplants.
o Removepottedplantsthatwouldotherwisebeunderthefumi-gationtentbecauseoftheirproximitytothestructure.
o Turnoffordisconnectautomaticoutdoorlightingsystems.
o Removeanyitemsthatmayobstructthefumigationprocesssuchasantennas,guidewiresorweathervanes.
o Ensureallawningsareretracted.
o Lockthestructuretobefumigated.Thelawrequiresstruc-turesremainlockedduringthefumigationprocess.Thepestmanagementcompanywillprovideadditionalexteriorlocks.
o Leavehousekeyswiththepestmanagementcompany,ormakearrangementsforthecompanytoaccessthestructure.
o Leavevehiclekeyswiththepestmanagementcompanyifve-hiclesaretoremaininthegarageorinaspacetobecoveredbyfumigationtarp.
