IntroductionThe ability to filter search results by proximity is truly one of the most
valuable features of geo-location technologies. As social media becomes
increasingly mobile, the importance of geo-search and geo-location will
continue to grow. Potential customers with geo-capable phones are quick
to search out venues nearby. Tap into an interested audience and make sure
they find your business.
This HootSuite Guide to Advanced Geo will demonstrate ways in which you
can use the enhanced geo-capable features in the HootSuite dashboard to
search out potential new customers, participate in geo-location activities and
engage with a local audience.
Part One: Setup and save a stream with your current Geo-location
Step 1: Choose the word or phrase you’d like to search for then click the
target; this will populate the stream.
Step 2: Your search will pop up in a new window.
Step 3: Save the Geo search results as a stream. Your dashboard will now
include a column for your search stream.
