Burden of mental illness

Ambulanz
Die kinder- und jugendpsychologische Ambulanz am Institut für Psychologie der Universität Wien arbeitet an der Schnittstelle zwischen Forschung und Praxis und soll Kindern und ihren Eltern bei psychischen Problemen als
Anlaufstelle dienen. Unter Einbezug von Evidenz-basierter Diagnostik ist es uns ein besonderes Anliegen psychologische Prävention und Intervention innovativ an die heutige Lebenswelt der Kinder anzupassen und die Klinische Psychologie damit in das
21. Jahrhundert zu bringen. Die Ambulanz ist eng mit der Forschung verknüpft, was kontinuierlich dazu beiträgt Erkenntnisse über Effektivität,
Ökonomie und Nützlichkeit psychologisch-diagnostischer Verfahren, sowie auch Interventionen zu erweitern und zu verbessern. Dieses Wissen fließt unmittelbar in die Angebote der Ambulanz ein und trägt maßgeblich dazu bei, dass

Games 4 Resilience Lab
Weltweit leidet 1 von 8 Kindern an psychischen Gesundheitsproblemen. Leider erhalten nur 10% davon eine psychologische Behandlung. Der Prävention psychischer
Gesundheitsprobleme kommt daher eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Wichtige Resilienzfaktoren die vor psychischer Gesundheitsproblemen schützen können sind gute Emotionale Kompetenz und Selbstkontrolle.
Neue Technologien und Medien sind ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Lebenswelt von Kindern und Jugendlichen. Internationale Umfragen zeigen, dass ein Großteil der Kinder und Jugendlichen neue Technologien und Medien
fast täglich nutzen, und in der Altersgruppe von 6-13 Jahren spielen 73% regelmäßig Computerspiele.
Im Games4Resilience Lab werden Computerspiele zur Prävention von psychischen Gesundheitsproblemen bzw. zur Resilienzförderung entwickelt.
