Experience policy making and an intimate understanding about the Organization of American States (OAS), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), US Agencies, and the Diplomatic Community.
Training is customized based on participants’ needs and capabilities, and participants are equipped with an action plan which can be implemented upon return to their home communities.
4 COMPARING DEMOCRACIES, POLITICS AND INSTITUTIONS
Experiencing International, State and Federal Agencies, and Congressional Offices give participants the opportunity to compare access and policy making processes, institutions, and governments, between countries and communities.
5 STRENGTHENING MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE
The Smithsonian Institution offers a unique opportunity
to further explore real world science and mathematics through visits to the National History, Air and Space, US Agricultural
Laboratories, and other key educational resources.
6 EXPERIENCING HISTORY, CULTURE, AND LANGUAGE
Strengthening English language is also an importantbenefit of the program. All activities are in English withsome reinforcement in Spanish as needed.
