A few more editing tips
• Various idf files in UserDefinedFiles can be altered for
interventions
• Look at Files tab to see what’s being used
• For example: spreadsheet currently using
“ScheduelsY2E2_ArupModel” and “MoreSchedules” for
various schedules
• Run Period can be changed in “Y2E2_V17.6_V2”
• Be careful when editing spreadsheet – ask questions

General EnergyPlus Tips
• Additional weather data can be found here:
http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/weat
herdata_about.cfm
• You can download EnergyPlus for free on your own
computers
– Make sure you grab the correct files from
CourseWork
– Make sure EnergyPlus is installed directly onto C:
drive, not Program Files
– Make sure paths are correctly aligned in
spreadsheet

Query 7
• Compare simulated data for a simple building given
different assumptions, using e+ and its UI:
a. With and without significant (assumed) lab and
server load;
b. 24/7 vs. 9 hour/day x 5day/week occupancy.
• Compare measured and predicted data for Y2E2:
a. 24/7 vs. 9 hour/day x 5day/week occupancy vs.
current measured building performance data;
b. Current measured building performance data vs.
predicted data given an operating intervention that
seems interesting to you.
