Roadshow in Japan

The Department of Tourism inJapan, with languageschools and universities fromthe Philippines, held a "LearnEnglish in the Philippines Au-tumn Roadshow" in Fukuoka,Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyolast November 15 to 22, 2015.The seminars and business

sessions gave the agents andother visitors a better appre-ciation of ESL, especially thebenefits of studying English inthe Philippines.

The event was held in thefour embarkation points inthe country where there aredirect flights going to Manilaand Cebu. The participatinglanguage schools and uni-

versities gathered almost 100inquiries and closed 28 ofthem. The road show wel-comed almost 170 visitors infour key cities in West Japan.

This is the 5th year the De-partment of Tourism heldthe said event.

First Study in the Philippines Exhibit held in TaiwanDOT in partnership with Dewey International Education organ-ized the first Study in the Philippines Exhibition in Taiwan fromDecember 11 to 13, 2015. Dewey International is one of themost active education agencies selling ESL packages in Tai-wan.

Dewey International sees the potential of the Philippines as analternative ESL destination in Asia. Since 2010 they were ableto send a total of 6,000 students to the country. They reportthe following as preferred ESL destinations: Cebu, Baguio,Iloilo, Boracay, Clark, Subic, and Bacolod. The event was heldin key cities of Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung. Some of therepresented schools include Paradise English in Boracay, Philin-ter, SMEAG and QQ English in Cebu, La Salle Bacolod andothers. Each school had a one-minute presentation of theirofferings and raffle games were also held to attract more visi-tors. The participants were not disappointed as they wereable to report a total of 500 visitors, 300 inquiries and a total of30 closed deals. CEB launches Cebu-Taipei Routes

Cebu Pacific inauguratesdirect flights from Manila toFukuoka, Japan; from Cebu toTaipei, Taiwan; and, fromDavao to Singapore in oneday, opening up new marketsfor tourism and business. CEBunveiled a direct Cebu-Taipeithrice weekly service. This isCEB's 6th international routefrom Cebu.

All new routes will utilize CEB'sbrand-new Airbus A320 aircraftfleet. CEB's network now spans63 destinations on 97 routes.(cebupacifiair.com, September10,2015)
