The Challenge

Since implementing a waste reduction plan, the client was looking to drastically reduce their water consumption, as their current method of water fl ushing was resulting in high volumes of effl uent to treat.

The Project - Cream topping lineIce Pigging proved to be highly effective at the removal and recovery of a thick and creamy cake topping from our client’s production lines while also significantly reducing their water consumption and the amount of effluent produced compared to their previous method of cold water flushing. There were also reductions in CIP chemicals used, system downtime and an overall increase to the efficiency of the plant. Per week, Ice Pigging would save the factory 124,000litres of water, 121,000litres of effluent and an additional 16,000litres in product recovered.
