Since 2005, Consejo has been providing outpatient substance abuse
services for the youth population in Pierce County.
We were able to add adult Substance Use Disorder Outpatient in the
2nd half of 2014.
We began providing services with one counselor and we currently
have employed six counselors and one Chemical Dependency
Professional Supervisor.
Our staff are culturally competent and have experience working with
the Latino population as well as other underserved communities.
History and Services
Services are provided at our Pierce County Office located in Tacoma and in several
schools throughout the county.
Consejo has also been licensed to provide Mental Health Services thru DBHR in
2016 to provide the following:
Brief Intervention Treatment, Case Management, Crisis Outreach, Day Support,
Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Individual Treatment, LRA Support & Psychiatric

may be in need of to assist in their recovery.
Assessments available to adult patients at Pierce County Jail, Northwest Detention
Center and Recovery Innovations at Western State Hospital.
Communication with courts, probation officers, etc. per WAC requirements.
Community outreach and education as needed, resource fairs and medical staff
education provided in the community.

• Comprehensive screening at Lincoln High School
• A comprehensive Bio-Psychosocial assessment that includes:
Includes diagnostic assessment for both mental health life domains and ASAM PPC II dimensions as well as, An integrated treatment plan conducted by a dually MHP/CDP credential professional
• Treatment plan reviews includes strength based measurable goals that are reviewed every 30/60/90 and 180 days. The plan is a “living document” that evolves and is updated as needed.
• Wraparound integrated care interventions and services for high risk youth.
• The individualized goals are developed in conjunction with the client
• In the treatment plan family member, systems involved and other support systems are identified by the client

These services above are in high demand within our patients currently being served and those we have to turn away and refer somewhere else, due to the lack of funding.
We are currently aggressively applying for funding throughout the county in hopes to brings these services to Consejo Pierce County Program.
