Job Summary
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the jobholder is responsible for fleet maintenance and transport logistics services. Ensure planning coordination and standardization of transport activities in the business area.
Key Duties

Ensure optimal availability of transport services – by establishing and running efficient and effective service and maintenance programs.
Responsible for fleet maintenance, logistics, scheduling procurement and disposal of vehicles, optimisation of requirements.
Prepares draft policy, systems procedures and operational standards of optimal performance.

Logistics and operational efficiency – effective scheduling of resources including, stock of spares drivers, vehicles, operating processes including car hire and taxi services to supplement transportation.

Management of contracted services – Identifying and specify needs establish outsourced services plan establish and maintain effective contracts. Monitor and control qualify of services to ensure there is value for money

Reporting for continual improvement while flagging opportunities for improvement including retirement of uneconomical fleets.

Overall planning coordination and standardisation of transport activities in the company. This includes projections of companywide capital budget for transport and alignment of processes with the company strategy.
Management of sectional staff
Ensuring statutory compliance for company fleet

Occasional Duties
Hold duties of administration managers when on leave or out of office including preparation of circulars to directors for various technical items.
Member of the inspection and Acceptance committee as secretary

H/she has been provided with a desktop computer and printer to facilitate performance of the assigned duties.

The job holder receives spare parts for fleet and fuel from suppliers

The job holder has responsibility for all fleet and vehicle matters. H/she can provide technical advice on technology.

Educational Requirements
a) Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent b) Diploma in Transport and Logistics is an added advantage. c) Relevant professional qualifications and membership to relevant professional body
is a further added advantage
Related Job Experience/Qualifications
At least seven (7) years experience in logistics and fleet management, three (3) of which must be in a busy environment at a Senior Officer level.

Work Environment
