We all have a role in making CentralFlorida a safer place for people walking.Best Foot Forward is a pedestrian safetyinitiative with a goal of convincing driversto yield or stop for people in crosswalks.The program uses a “Triple E” approachof education, engineering and enforcementto convince drivers to obey the law – andyield for pedestrians! Let’s all do our partby knowing and obeying the law and putting our best foot forward for pedestrian safety.

2) Three people are struck by cars a day. (on average)

3) One person is killed each week crossing the street (on average).

Drivers must yield to pedestrians at intersections

even if there are no pavement markings or signs.

Drivers may not pass cars that are stopped

at a crosswalk.

Turning vehicles must stop for pedestrians at

intersections with traffic signals.

Drivers must come to a complete stop at crosswalks with signs indicating that a

full stop is required.
