NEWSBBAtoputmembersfirstwithnewsteeringgroupTheBritishBarbers’AssociationistoputitsmembersattheforefrontofitsfuturecampaignsasitlaunchesanewinitiativetohelpitbetterrepresenttheindustryanditsviewsTheassociation,whichistheleadingbodyforbarbers,malegroomingsalonsandmen’shairdressersacrossthecountry,haslaunchedasteeringgroupwhichwillguideitsliaisonswiththegovernmentanditsagencies,andensurethatabroaderrangeofmembers’viewsarerepresented.ChairedbyErikLanderBarberEducator,theBBASteeringGroup’smainrolewillbetocontributetoandshapethedirectionoftheorganisation,ensuringthatisobjectivesareinlinewithitsmembers'viewsandwiderindustryneeds.Thiswillincludeprovidinginsightonlong-termstrategiesthatsupportchangestoregulationsthathelptheindustry,ensuringeducationisinplacetofulfilskillsgapsandconsultingtheprofessiononthefutureaimsoftheassociation.Itwillalsotakeresponsibilityforthefeasibilityoftheassociation’sbusinesscasesandcampaigns,themonitoringandreviewoftheBBA’sstatus,aswellasoversightoftherolloutanddeliveryofitsinitiativesandtheirimpactontheindustry.TheBBASteeringGroupwillincluderepresentativesfromcolleges,largeemployers,self-employedbarbers,theBarberCouncilandeducationalbodiesfromallovertheUK.ErikLandersaid,‘IamdelightedtobeappointedChairoftheBBASteeringGroup,andlookingforwardtoworkingwiththemonprojectsandcampaignsthatwillensurecontinuedhighstandardsacrossthesector,aswellassuccessfulanddeservedrecognitionatthehighestlevelsfortheprofessionalismoftheindustry.It’sagreathonourandIintendtorepresenttheviewsofeveryoneacrossthebarberingindustrysothattogetherwecanmakeadifference’.TheBritishBarbers'Association(BBA)istheleadingassociationandmembershiporganisationforthebarberingindustryintheUK.Supportingbarbers,malegroomingsalonsandmen'shairdressersacrossthecountry,theBBAworkswithgovernment-appointedorganisationsandagenciestoensurethedevelopmentofhigh-qualitytrainingandqualificationsthatmeettheindustry'sneeds.
