Transport and storageF2120 must be transported and stored vertically.
Ensure that the heat pump cannot fall over duringtransport.
Ensure that the heat pump cannot be damaged duringtransportation.
Installation andpositioning• Place F2120 outdoors on a solid level base that cantake the weight, preferably a concrete foundation. Ifconcrete slabs are used they must rest on asphalt orshingle.
• The lower edge of the evaporator must be at the levelof the average local snow depth. The concretefoundation or concrete plinths must therefore be atleast 70 mm high.
• F2120 should not be positioned next to noise sensitivewalls, for example, next to a bedroom.
• Also ensure that the placement does not inconveni-ence the neighbours.
• F2120 must not be placed so that recirculation of theoutdoor air can occur. This causes lower output andimpaired efficiency.
• The evaporator must be sheltered from direct wind / ,which negatively affects the defrosting function. PlaceF2120 protected from wind / against the evaporator.
• Small amounts of condensation water, as well as meltwater from defrosting, may be produced. Condensa-tion water must be led off to a drain or equivalent.
• Care must be exercised so that the heat pump is notscratched during installation.

Inspection of theinstallationCurrent regulations require the heating installation to beinspected before it is commissioned. The inspectionmust be carried out by a suitably qualified person andshould be documented. The above applies to closedheating systems.
If the heat pump is replaced, the installation must beinspected again.
Condensation watertroughThe condensation water trough collects and leads awaymost of the condensation water from the heat pump.
It is important for the heat pump’s function that thecondensation water is led away and that the outlet forthe condensation water pipe is positioned so as to pre-vent damage to the building. Condensation run-offshould be checked regularly, especially during the au-tumn. Clean if necessary.
Pipe with heating cable for draining the condensate drainpan is not included. To ensure this function, the access-ory KVR 10 should be used.
• The condensation water (up to 50 litres/24 hrs) thatcollects in the trough should be routed away by a pipeto an appropriate drain, it is recommended that theshortest outdoor stretch possible is used.
• The section of the pipe that can be affected by frostmust be heated by the heating cable to preventfreezing.
• Route the pipe downward from F2120.
• The outlet of the condensation water pipe must be ata depth that is frost free or alternatively indoors (withreservation for local ordinances and regulations).
• Use a water trap for installations where air circulationmay occur in the condensation water pipe.
• The insulation must seal against the bottom of thecondensation water trough.

Pipe installationPipe installation must be carried out in accordance withcurrent norms and directives.
F2120 can only operate up to a return temperature ofabout 55 °C and an outgoing temperature of about 65 °Cfrom the heat pump.
F2120 is not equipped with external shut off valves onthe water side; these must be installed to facilitate anyfuture servicing. The return temperature is limited bythe return line sensor.
WATER VOLUMESDepending on the size of F2120, an available watervolume is required to prevent short operating times andto enable defrosting. For optimal operation of F2120, aminimum available water volume of 10 litres times thesize number is recommended. E.g. F2120-12: 10 litresx 12 = 120 litres.
PIPE COUPLINGHEATINGMEDIUMCIRCUIT• The heat pump must be vented by the upper connec-tion (XL1) using the venting nipple on the enclosedflexible hose.
• Install the enclosed particle filter before the inlet, i.e.the lower connection (XL2) on F2120.
• All outdoor pipes must be thermally insulated with atleast 19 mm thick pipe insulation.
• Install shutoff and drain valves so that F2120 can beemptied in the event of prolonged power failures.
• The supplied flexible hoses act as vibration dampers. The flexible pipes are fitted so an elbow is created, thus acting as vibration damping.
Charge pumpThe charge pump (not included in the product) ispowered and controlled from the control module. It hasa built-in anti-freezing function and, for this reason, mustnot be switched off when there is a risk of freezing.
At temperatures below +2 °C the charge pump runsperiodically, to prevent the water from freezing in thecharge circuit. The function also protects against excesstemperatures in the charge circuit.

IT'S IN OUR NATURE
When connection to NIBE indoor module / controlmodule (VVM / SMO) is ready, you can control your unitvia the indoor module / control module.
Control, generalThe indoor temperature depends on several differentfactors. Sunlight and heat emissions from people andhousehold machines are normally sufficient to keep thehouse warm during the warmer parts of the year. Whenit gets colder outside, the climate system must bestarted. The colder it is outside, the warmer radiatorsand under floor heating system must be.
Control of the heat production is performed based onthe "floating condensing" principle, which means thatthe temperature level needed for heating at a specificoutdoor temperature is produced based on collectedvalues from the outdoor and supply temperaturesensors. The room sensor can also be used to com-pensate the deviation in room temperature.
Heat productionThe supply of heat to the house is regulated inaccordance with the heating curve setting se-lected. After adjustment, the correct amount
of heat for the current outdoor temperature is supplied. The supply temperature of the heat pump will oscillatearound the theoretically required value.
OWN CURVEF2120 has pre-programmed non-linear heating curves. It is also possible to create your own defined curve. Thisis an individual linear curve with a number of breakpoints. You select break points and the associatedtemperatures.
Hot water productionHot water charging starts when the temperat-ure has fallen to the set start temperature. Hotwater charging stops when the hot water
temperature at the hot water sensor has been reached.
For occasional higher hot water demand, there is afunction called "temporary lux" that allows the temperat-ure to be raised via one time increase or up to 12 hours(selected in the menu system).
It is also possible to set F2120 in holiday mode, whichmeans that the lowest possible temperature is achievedwithout the risk of freezing.
Additional heat onlyThe indoor module (VVM), which is connected to F2120,can be used with the additional heat alone (electricboiler) to produce heating and hot water, for examplebefore the outdoor module is installed.
ADDITIONAL HEAT ONLYThe indoor module (VVM), which is connected to F2120,can be used with the additional heat alone (electricboiler) to produce heating and hot water, for examplebefore the outdoor module is installed.
Alarm indicationsThe status lamp lights red in the event of an alarm andthe display shows detailed information depending onthe fault. An alarm log is created with each alarm con-taining a number of temperatures, times and operatingstatus.

Sound pressure levelsF2120 is usually placed next to a housewall, which givesa directed sound distribution that should be considered.Accordingly, you should always attempt when position-ing to choose the side that faces the least sound sens-itive neighbouring area.
The sound pressure levels are further affected by walls, bricks, differences in ground level, etc and shouldtherefore only be seen as guide values.
