Dear Friends and Members of Temple Beth-El,
Temple Beth-El will be 60 years old in 2011! We will be holding a celebration of renewal on February 26th, 2011. We are inviting all our members and friends to a wonderful celebration on that evening, with food and music and fellowship as we reaffirm our vibrant place in the Jewish community and the community as a whole. We are also inviting members and friends who wish to renew their wedding vows with us on that evening.
We are preparing a tribute/memory book and we hope you will participate. The reverse of this letter outlines the various ways you can participate.
The daily life of Temple Beth-El and its school are inextricably intertwined with the fabric of the community. The Temple is a long-time member of the area’s organizations of clergy and religious institutions. We hold a seat on the board of Family Renew, we participate in feeding the homeless every month and we support many inter-faith families. This is just a small sample of our involvement in the community. We are involved in educating those of all ages, both at our Temple and at institutions of higher learning. The Jewish Federation, which provides help in times of need to members of the community, Jew and non-Jew alike, turns to Temple Beth-El for fundraising, hosting events and assistance of many kinds.
While we recognize the downturn the economy has visited on many of you, we hope that you will consider participating in the memory book in a significant way. It is a rare opportunity to honor the enduring life of Temple Beth-El in this community. The Temple is renewing itself, renewing its members and is committed to continually renewing the community in which we live. We need your help to go forward into the future.
