In April 2008 the
57-75 Movement organized a workbooks development write-shop in order to come
upwith an immediate and effective response to the problem of lacking textbooks and instructional materials in pu blic
schools. or two weeks! master teachers from each of the 57-75 pilot sites compiled a series of workbooks on
"cience! #nglish! and Mathematics designed for their elementar$ and high school students.%he write-shop aimed to& '() identif$ least mastered skills in a sub*ect area+ '2) produce lesson guides
that
will help increase the abilit$ of classroom instructors in developing the master$ level of students particularl$ in
problematic sub*ect areas+ and ',) help teachers be creative in developing their own instructional materials based
on resources available to them in their respective schools.oth the facult$ and students of the public school s$stem are expected to gain from this pro*ect. %each
erswill not onl$ be aided b$ the problem-solving and explanations given in the workbooks but will also be helped in
terms of gearing their students towards a unified understanding of the sub*ect matter. %his workbook will also
serve as an alternative medium of instruction in the absence of textbooks and other necessar$ teaching mater ials
that the le ss fortunate ma$ not be able to afford.%he workbooks development write-shop
