Janet DRAKOS
I have been involved in all facets of the game as an athlete, coach, official and
administrator. I believe my extensive and varied experience at all levels within Netball as
well as my strong leadership capabilities and proven results in building and leading a high
performing team, driving corporate strategy and influencing major stakeholders places me
in a position to excel at representing and meeting the obligations of being a Director of
Netball NSW.
My vision for the game is: Netball is the sport of choice for the youth of NSW.
My purpose is: Netball provides the youth of NSW with the skills to grow and contribute positively to the community. Nicole ADAMSON
I have an intimate understanding of netball from a community to national level as a
player, coach and administrator. Combined with my broad depth and business
experience and acumen I believe I will be an asset to the Board of Netball NSW and am
well placed to assist Netball NSW in achieving growth and change in the current sporting
climate.
The current change being experienced in the professional sporting environment,
community sport and in particular women’s sport will present new challenges and I am
well placed to provide direction and input to take Netball NSW into the future as one of
the leading sporting state bodies in Australia. My career in accounting, finance,
valuation, project management and relationship management combined with my
expansive Netball experience will enable a rich contribution to the direction of Netball NSW into the future
particularly in the realm of community engagement, communications and commercial operations. I have
had exposure to the value of brand marketing in a sporting arena and I am confident I can apply to the
Netball NSW context as a Board member.

Rodney WATSON OAM
As a Director I am committed to ensuring that we have implemented the
appropriate strategic vision to achieve the further development of netball in
NSW. This includes support for infrastructure development, training and
support for officials and programs for athletes. Integral to this vision is the
promotion of netball as a leader in women’s sport that includes Indigenous,
CALD and other identified groups.
With two elite NSW teams in the Suncorp Super Netball competition will
provide more opportunities for athletes, officials and other volunteers that
start at the grassroots level in Associations. Netball NSW has a role in
providing supporting competitions and structures to enable these athletes
and volunteers to achieve their goals.
I believe that I have the appropriate skills to assist in the growth of netball across this State that
is both sustainable and financially viable. As Chair of the Governance Committee I am committed
to the provision of policies that assists our Associations in meeting their obligations to their
members.
I am passionate about our sport. It is significant for teaching teamwork, discipline, responsibility
and respect that ultimately shapes our youth to become community role models. I am committed
to representing our membership to achieve these aims.

I believe my extensive service in Netball, Government and charitable organisations
will further assist Netball NSW and its affiliated Associations on matters of best
practice governance, government relations, law, financial grants, marketing and
promotion. Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for outstanding
service to youth welfare, charitable and sporting organisations. I am a Bachelor of
Arts, Bachelor of Laws, Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW, extensive experience
in Senior Government positions, Local Government Councillor for many years,
previously NSW Parliament (Office of Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier), NSW
Attorney General’s Department and WorkCover NSW. Involved with numerous
Charities, Boards and National Conventions: White Ribbon Foundation for the
prevention of violence against women (Nominated for Ambassador of the Year), Cancer Council NSW,
Cure the Future Stem Cell Research, Australian National Gynecological Cancer Foundation, Give Anything

Carol MURPHY
I am nominating for re-election to the Board to allow me to continue my work for all
members of Netball NSW.
With a strong club/association background combined with business experiences I
believe I am an effective Board member as I relate to and understand issues from
grassroots to elite level.
I am committed to our sport and our organisation as we move in to new areas of
business such as the Suncorp Super League and the opportunities that this and other
new initiatives offer to players, officials, spectators and our members.
I know the Constitution and Policies of Netball NSW and work to ensure these are updated and relevant.
I firmly believe in strong governance ensuring a strong Association. Financial Management is critical in all
our endeavours to create a sustainable future along with the understanding that we are a complex
organisation which needs strong leadership and oversight.
Communication through all levels of the organisation is essential and having someone who relates to these
diverse levels is an advantage.
I believe that I act on behalf of the members of Netball NSW and strive to provide the best services and
vision for all involved to enhance and grow the organisation.
