Layout

The blue boxes behind the text fit with the house style and don't look out of place, the writing is easy to read because of the background and the chose n text colour. The audience are drawn to the information inside the boxes as they are bold and contain language which is informative about the artist. Doing the persuades them to read the whole article. The slant of the boxes gives it a finished look.

Format and Colour

The main colour of the magazine article and spread is blue and black, stereotypically this is aimed at the male gender. The equal amount of text, images and white space, give the impression that the magazine want to make it as easy as possible for the audience to read so they aren't off put by too much business. The large text gives the impression that it is aimed at a young audience who don’t like reading bulk text.

Artist Choice

The artists featured in the magazine, 'Teenagers' portray the idea that the audience of the magazine are young teenagers, similarly aged to the artists. Where it says 'NME LOVES' this will persuade and encourage the audience to find out more about the band and research into their music. This could have the potential of creating a loyal fan base.

Camera

The camera shot that has been used for this article on the double page spread is a mid/ long shot, they are also all facing the camera, so there is a clean shot of their faces and clothing, making them highly recognisable to their fans. The mise –en- scene of the shot relates highly to the genre of the magazine, ‘indie’. This is shown through a few things, the first being the clothing, the branded clothes, with large text on and jeans are a stereotypical combination for an indie artist to wear. Secondly is the casual positioning of the artists, in comparison to a pop artist they are much more relaxed, the posters also represent the genre of the artists.

Choice of Text

Even though the large majority of the double page spread is based on ‘the teenagers’ there are sections with different artists which show that there is something for everybody even if they do not like the main artists. ‘Everyone's talking about it’ ensures the audience that the band have a reputation of being liked and well known it reassures them that the music is good, it makes them feel more involved.
