F1 in Schools is an educational organisation, global competition run by Formula One that incorporates a worldclass STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) education that engages with millions of students across the Globe which makes it the largest compe-tition for high school students in the world.

The processes the student teams are following are the same as the real Formula One pro-cedures. We design, analyse and manufacture our cars using softwares (CAD, CFC, CAM) and machines (CNC, 3D printer). We also have to develop marketing strategies to establish business partnerships and raise sponsorship. Finally, the compressed air powered balsa wood car will be raced down a 20m track, competing against other national representa-tives.

The World Finals are held a week before the actual F1 Grand Prix, allowing us to compete in a globally recognised platform against all the other national champions. The judges look over different areas, including the car itself, team identity and the pit stop. The 12th F1 in Schools will be held in Austin, Texas on October 2016.

F1 in Schools is not a children's game. Covered by Sky Sports, F1 in Schools World Finals are aired live on YouTube. International and local businesses’ logos and names get con-stant exposure through decals on cars, uniforms and on pit displays and social media.

This year, representatives from our school, Team Helios were awarded the “Best newcom-er’s award”. They were the first ever team from Vietnam to qualify for this international competition as national champions, and took to Singapore for the World Finals to compete against 47 teams from around the globe.

This year, we yet again managed to clinch victory as reigning national F1 champions of Vi-etnam as current designers of the fastest car

Doppler Racing is a F1 in Schools team which will compete in the F1 in Schools World Finals 2016 in Texas, USA.

We will have to design, manufacture and race miniature F1 cars. At the same time, we have to create team identity, raise sponsorship and establish strong business partnerships.

Our team is comprised of highcaliber members, each with expeOur team is comprised of highcaliber members, each with expertise in their own fields. Ulti-mately, the utility of these quality expertise will most certainly orient us towards success. This is an outcome of the combination of skills that each member possesses; our team-work.

Whether it be vehicle design or attracting sponsors, our members are versatile with their roles, which often amalgamate together. Our expansive skills and trust between members that was formed over school years have lead to this, therefore the complexity of tasks will not be too great of a challenge, not with the level of cooperation that we maintain.

World finals

The 2016 F1 in Schools World Finals will be hosted in Austin, Texas. The competition will give teams educational opportunities to connect with the F1 industry and other National representatives from around the World. This global event is celebrating its 12th world finals event, first established in the UK in 1999. Involving representatives from 40 different coun-tries, the competition aims to give opportunities for future engineers/scientists to apply their knowledge in real life.

F1 in schools hF1 in schools have partnered up with the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the premier motor racing circuit in the USA and host for the FIA FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP UNITED STATES OF AMERICA GRAND PRIX. The announcement of the F1 in Schools World Finals returning to the USA was made at the F1 in Schools World Finals 2015, held last month at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.

As the world finals test the few dozen teams that have nationally qualified over the spec-trum of 20 million students, it is especially competitive and strict in terms of criterion.

Doppler Racing values publicity as one of the most important factors in our team. It allows us to raise awareness, share our sponsors and develop science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) learning in schools as well as business and management.

Logo placement in school publications - circulation 1,700 +students and many outlets in HCMC. The Spectrum is a term based school magazine that informs parents as well as many other places around HCMC.

The World Finals is a prestigious event to attend and is covered by the media. Due to its strong connection with Formula One, there are a lot of news media outlets from TV to newspapers at the event. In addition to the news media surrounding the event, F1 in Schools livestreams some of the events onto their website and youtube, allowing for peers and family to watch as teams compete. This system gives us an opportunity to spread your business or enterprise to multiple individual users across the globe.

We aim to establish a long-term funding project within the school and to gain finance through F1 themed activities and participation by the students in the school. This will not only enhance our funding but also raise school awareness about this competition. Various fundraising activities will not only cover the financial side, but also raise school spirit and inform that Doppler racing is representing the school in an international, global competi-tion.

F1 in schools week will take place on the first week of February (1st-5th) During this week, we aim to establish an awareness raising week within our school to ensure school support and team spirit for the team and the event as a whole. This will not only be a vital stage for the team to advertise the competition but will act as a platform for us to advertise our sponsors within the school environment by placing posters and selling their merchandise.
