Operating Instructions

Concrete surfaces - peel and-compaction screed system MSBMSBMSBMSB

is an aluminum-frame construction, the universal sy stem for working widths from 2m - which can be asce nded to 25m. From a System lenght of 2m each system element can be operated independently. With this system, t he concrete is smoothed and compacted simultaneously. Through the tube-wave plug-in system, a simple and fast connection of the individual elements is given. Thr ough the tube screw connection system inclinations- break points can be adjusted continuously. Adjustment of the coupled screed parts is done via a clamping sys tem in the upper chord. The MSB can be optionally equipped and operated with electric-or air-powered vibrators.

A bivalent assembly is also possible. The imbalance s of the e-Vibrators are continuously to adjust and easy to fix. All electric motors are operated centrally for fine tun ing with a frequency converter. Through the combina tion of frequency (speed tuning) and unbalances the running behavior of the MSB can be optimally adjusted to the concrete and the concrete surface requirements. All pneumatic vibrators are coupled to the system ends .

The control is carried out centrally over air valve s. The MSB is drawn by hand winches with automatic unrolling - which are attached to the ends. The MSB is guided b y lateral formwork, railway systems, etc.

A special coating on the aluminum construction prev ents concrete from sticking.

3 Product Description

3.1 General Description

MSB is an aluminum-frame construction, the universal system for working widths from 2m - which can be ascended to 25m. From a System lenght of 2m each system element can be operated independently. With this system, the concrete is smoothed and compacted simultaneously. Through the tube-wave plug-in system, a simple and fast connection of the individual elements is given. Through the tube screw connection system inclinations-break points can be adjusted continuously. Adjustment of the coupled screed parts is done via a clamping system in the upper chord. The MSB can be optionally equipped and operated with electric-or air-powered vibrators. A bivalent assembly is also possible. The imbalances of the e-Vibrators are continuously to adjust and easy to fix. All electric motors are operated centrally for fine tuning with a frequency converter. Through the combination of frequency (speed tuning) and unbalances the running behavior of the MSB can be optimally adjusted to the concrete and the concrete surface requirements. All pneumatic vibrators are coupled to the system ends. The control is carried out centrally over air valves. The MSB is drawn by hand winches with automatic unrolling - which are attached to the ends. The MSB is guided by lateral formwork, railway systems, etc. A special coating on the aluminum construction prevents concrete from sticking.

3.2 Operating controls and functional elements

This chapter describes operational and functional elements and their tasks:

4 Before commissioning

The MSB is preset by the manufacturer. The inverter controls the vibrator to an initial frequency of 15 Hz - then it allows the operator to control the heart speed and thus the speed to 60 Hz manually. Adjustment of the frequency parameters are only possible after consultation with the manufacturer.

4.1 MSB composition

When assembling the MSB elements, a straight base s hould be present. Each element should be part backe d by a wooden beam on a plane surface. If the element s are bolted together all the wooden beams can beremoved. Now, the MSB can be aligned. This is done by turnin g the tension in the top flange. If the MSB is ali gned , all the nuts on the tensioner must be countered.

➔Check the individual parts of the system MSB-positive connection (pipe connectors). ➔Check the individual parts of the MSB system to electrical and pneumatic connections. ➔Check the location, shuttering boards or other default rails and systems on their stability. ➔➔➔➔MSB at total lengths of more than 12m a third hand winch in the middle of the screed is needed. ➔Route the connection cable in a way that there is no tripping hazard to personnel. ➔The Connection Cable from the main power supply to the frequence converter must be an EMC protected cable!!

The annual external inspection interval in accordance with the provisions of OVE and the construction worker protection regulations are observed and the results shall be documented! (Operator obligation)

4.2 Environmental conditions We point out that under extreme environmental conditions and temperatures a power loss of the MSB can arise if there is no reaction on sourrounding conditions!

• The MSB is continuously checked for electrical visible defects. • On every winch an operatorer has to be positioned. • Check the location, formwork or other default rails and systems on their stability. • Frequency converter, alternatively turn on the compressor. • Direction of rotation of the MSB - check forward or rewind. • Use of MSB depending on casting sequences at the appropriate time. • Switch on Frequency converter, alternatively operate pneumatic valve. • Belonging to the casting sequences the MSB sould be drawn steadily. • Depending on the concrete consistency the frequence can be increased or reduced by speed

potentiometer, alternatively, turn on air valve more or less. • Depending on the casting progress of the MSB can be stopped and started again. • The inverter controls the vibrator to an initial frequency of 15 Hz - then it allows the operator to control

the heart speed and thus the speed to 60 Hz manually. • When operating the air valve then open slowly and adjust to the desired speed.

Attention at pile lengths from about 12 meters and longer it can be necessary (by adverse influences concrete consistency and concrete aggregates etc.) to work with middle-winch.

Therefore please note the chapter middle-winch!

Furthermore, Section III. of the documentation! Working with long planks!!

6. Working with the MSB

• Before casting - you have to run a test drive over the whole area in dry conditions! Therefor you can prove if the concrete cover and the obligatory inclinations are correct. If not not you can react! • A constant Slump or a consistent quality of concrete should be casted. The concrete should have a workable slump for a good operation of the MSB. • As appropriate concrete consistency can vary from siteto site by broken-round grain, varying additives, plasticizers and other additions to local conditions , adjust the MSB according to the rules. • Different concrete consistencies lead to different workflows and continuous changes in relation to the handling of the MSB. Increase in speed or speed reduction, increase windings or lower windings at the winches, increasing or lowering the rotations by the vibratores throughout the frequence converter.

• It is always better to operate the MSB without major interruptions. The casting sequence should be adjusted so that the MSB is operated as long as possible in a continuous train speed. With permanent stop-and-go operation to stiffer concrete longitudinal grooves can not be avoided. When starting the MSB, the winch ropes should be streched and the MSB should be quickly moved away from the starting position. Thus, transverse grooves can be avoided. One of the most important criteria for a clean conc rete surface is the preliminary work - level of the cast ed concrete has to be done by rakes or other tools! This screed angle is 60mm high, with a certain rout ine the concrete can be moved forward. However, it is impor tant to ensure that no concrete runs over the angle. Thus, the dynamics of the MSB can change, leading to a not pr oper behavior of MSB!

14

Example of critical situation:

The red arrows mark the dangerous phase. If you dont take care in this situation, concrete r uns over the angle. If this happens to a greater length, it may happen that the plank is drawn down in the middle-part and therefore the concrete cover could be not longer accurate. If that happens, pull back or lift back, clean the angles and start from the beginning. If the MSB Screed still pulls down in the middle section it is necessary to work with feed slide - work spacer tubes or slats. see point IV. in the documentation

7 Cleaning and Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning MSB

The MSB must be cleaned immediately after completion of the casting with high pressure water-cleaner. If cleaning is neglected, no coating may prevent the concrete from sticking and deterioration of performance is the result!.

7.2 Maintenance Schedule The MSB is designed "maintenance-free" still following points should be noted. Regular maintenance reduces operating faults, repair costs and downtime.

ATTENTION! Risk of injury due to unintentional activation1 – disconnect the power supply or the air supply before servicing MSB. Perform a safety-related maintenance program that takes the local regulations for repair and maintenance for all phases of operation of the MSB.

7.3 Lubricants For proper operation and long life using the right coating and oils is essential.. Pre-treatment - treatment - cleaning: Basically, the MSB is specially-coated to prevent sticking of concrete to the MSB parts. (INFERRUGOL HD). Before and after each casting with the MSB - all MSB parts should be cleaned with with high pressure water-cleaner..

When cleaning with steam no electrical components m ay be directly exposed to the water jet. and then spray-treated with concrete anti-sticking

To reduce contamination of the MSB, protect it with a cover (plastic film, ...)

Middle-Winch for Mooser MSB Beams from 12 meters

Attention for pile lengths from about 12 meters and

longer, it may due to adverse influences such as Winter weather, concrete consistency - Aggregates

etc. it can be necessary to work with the Middle-Winch..

The Middle-Winch is additionally mounted on one end element. One one end element you need two diverting pulleys. In the open eye bolts which are also attached to the three-point belt, the tension cable is laid up to about half the length of the MSB. There is another pulley attached. At a 90 ° angle to the pile the tension cable is then hooked after unwinding of the winds in the lower reinforcement.

For connection, just flexible cord must be used. We recommend the following cable type: NSSHÖU-J 4 x 1.5 mm ² with

diameter 14 to VDE 0250th PVC pipes are unsuitable.

If no special centrifugal force adjustment was required when ordering, the unit is fully set. To adjust the centrifugal

force both protective covers must be removed. Then each can be adjusted as needed, but must necessarily take place

in the same setting on both sides. The setting values are printed for each unit in the spare parts list, depending on the

setting angle..

After the adjustment loosened screws must be reattached and the hoods are necessarily re-mounted.
