What is affordance?

• It indicates the environment offers an opportunity to the agent to do an action, independently if the agent makes use of it or not. Affordance is all possible action in the environment. (Gibson, 1979).

•Affordance is an interactive process between the agent and the environment….. But the agent needs to perceive the potentialities.

Santos Costa ( 2013)

•Affordances are not the same for all people. We perceive different potential and meaning depending on the goals, interests, intentions, background knowledge and cultures.

Affordances - Gibson (1979), Gaver (1991) and Van Lier (2004)

•  M-learning as a rhizome……. unpredictable, flexible, dynamic, adaptive and nonlinear process. Mobile learning is not only a way. There are many ways to use mobile devices to support students and in control of your own learning. This means for us as a mixing of learning: formal, non-formal and informal.

  Linguistics Affordance

A linguistic affordance shows a relationship between a person and a linguistic expression (indirect speech acts, for example), that is a relation of possibilities of action.

  Linguistics Affordance

Van Lier (2004) says that language learning is mediated by all semiotic capabilities that are available in the learning environment and that such capabilities are not just exist, but must be activated, shared and used under the guidance by teacher – “ an educational designer”.

•  M-learning as a rhizome……. unpredictable, flexible, dynamic, adaptive and nonlinear process. Mobile learning is not only a way. ConclusionThe activities in this study will not be model learning with mobile devices, because we believe that the teachers should be a designer of their own activities, based on the context and the reality of their students. This e-book will help the teachers implement creative solutions in their linguistics and pedagogical practices.
