VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIFE THROUGH SPIRITUAL WARFARE

A. INTRODUCTION

Life without warfare is impossible in the natural world as well as in the spiritual realm, the Christian

is called to a life of war, and victory will only come when one is active in the war. We are called to

walk in spiritual authority and power of the Holy Spirit, which is necessary to establish the kingdom

of God on the earth. The Christian is called to wage war on three levels. Face to face warfare with

Satan in where we overcome temptation and the seductions of the flesh and its nature. This is the

first level of spiritual warfare, but I must make this point-all spiritual warfare must be done in the

power of the Spirit, and therefore, all warfare produces real authority, which produces power. Even

in this first level of warfare us „by the Spirit put to death the deeds of the body (flesh)‟1. Then, we

will have overcome by fighting, and we will live in Him in victory for He always causes us to

triumph. The second level of spiritual warfare is hand to hand combat in which we enter into warfare

for others by bringing truth (witnessing, preaching) to them or through intercession or by casting out

demons, thus fulfilling the „great commission‟2. Please note that this type of ministry is only for

those who have had victory in their own lives in face to face warfare. Again, this is done by the

authority of the Holy Spirit who is the finger of God. „But if I cast out demons with the finger of

God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you;‟3 and, by His commission and authority we

cast out demons. Jesus Christ said to them, „I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I

give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy,

and nothing shall by any means hurt you.‟4 Therefore, now let's talk about the third level of spiritual

warfare, and may it be so that the Spirit of the Living God opens the eyes of our understanding

regarding spiritual warfare in the heaven-lies where the thrones of principalities and rulers of

darkness are pulled down.

Principalities (Satan‟s Princes) Do Exist!

We acknowledge that principalities (Satan‟s princes) do exist; Daniel 10:13, 20 clearly show that

there are princes in the heavenly places, and Ephesian 6:12 clearly tells us that we (the church)

wrestle with (engage in warfare) the principalities, rulers of darkness. With these truths firmly

established, the only question that remains is how do we wrestle? The word wrestle is pallo meaning

to sway or vibrate with principalities. The vibration of prophetic proclamation comes against and

causes the throne of principalities to begin to sway, until they topple over and come down. Again,

this type of warfare does not take place in our own strength or power. “2 Corinthian 10:4 for the

weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” The

weapons of our spiritual warfare (in the heaven-lies or spiritual realm) are intercession by prophetic

proclamation (speaking by the Holy Spirit), not bringing a railing accusation but through

proclamation that declares the establishment of the Kingdom of God and commands Satan to get

behind (a place of defeat) the kingdom and to get under the feet of God's rule. And, as ambassadors

for Christ, we must engage the enemy. In the Old Testament we have a shadow and type of spiritual

warfare in the spiritual realm called pulling down the high places, and you will notice that most did

not do this, and therefore, a fullness of the kingdom was not established. In the New Testament we

have an example of how this takes place. And now, we get to the heart of the matter, and when one

1 Romans 8:13

[2]

is seeking truth we must go to the Truth, Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith, the Master

teacher Himself, and we must examine the example that He left us with, and it is found in Luke

chapters 3 and 4. Jesus is not warring on the first two levels of spiritual warfare, which we have

discussed. The object of spiritual warfare is to establish kingdom rule. “Then the devil, taking Him

up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil

said to Him, 'All this authority I will give you, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and

I give it to whomever I wish.” (Luke 4:5-6) Herein the divine plan of spiritual warfare (in the heaven

lies - spiritual realm) is revealed.

(1) First, Luke 3:22 tells us that Jesus is baptized with the Holy Spirit. I believe that the baptism

of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for those who are going to engage in spiritual

warfare against Satan and his principalities (princes).

(2) In Luke 4:2 Jesus is LED into spiritual warfare by the Holy Spirit. Warfare in the heaven lies

is orchestrated by God who gives the gift of discerning of spirits, thereby revealing what

principalities are ruling.

(3) Jesus does not bring a railing accusation against Satan (neither do we), but He does speak the

word of God by the Spirit of God, and His main message is “Get behind Me Satan!” In other

words, the kingdom of God has come, and you are now behind (or under) my authority, and

you must move out of the way-verse 13 says, “He (Satan) departed from Jesus.” The

authority of the kingdom must first be proclaimed, this is how Jesus began His ministry.

Matthew 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of

heaven is at hand.” So the question is, are we supposed to speak to Satan and his

principalities? And, by whose authority are the principalities pulled down? Matthew 18:18

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever

you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Mark 11:23 “For assuredly, I say to you,

whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in

his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

What we bind and loose (by proclamation) on earth is done by Jesus in the heaven lies, for

He is the Captain of the hosts (His angelic warriors), and it is His angels who pull down the

strongholds (fortresses) that Satan establishes. The angels of God were there at the

wilderness battle. Mat 4:11 “Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and

ministered to Him.”

(4) Now most would say the battle is won and is over at this point, but it has actually only begun.

Luke 4:13 indicates that Satan may have lost this battle, but he hasn't lost the war yet because

his departure has only been for a season. Now, we must move on to the second phase of

spiritual warfare which is to establish the kingdom (dominion) of God by following Christ's

example. Luke 4:14 tells us that the establishment of the kingdom will be through the power

of the Holy Spirit. The next key is found in Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me,

because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the

brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at

liberty those who are oppressed.” The kingdom of God is going to be established through the

anointing as the Word is preached, and by continuing to cast out demon powers wherever

found (Luke 4:35, 36) and by healing the sick (Luke 4:40,41).

[3]

(5) Acceptable, a bottom line...The principalities and powers that we wrestle with are pulled

down (lose authority) by the establishment of the kingdom of God as the anointed servants of

the Lord speak to (bind, rebuke and cast out) and as they continue to do the works of Jesus as

He said we would in John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the

works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My

Father.” It is the continuation of the kingdom of God that destroys the rule of Satan's powers

of darkness and the thrones of his rule will diminish in exact proportion to the rule of the

kingdom of God in any given geographical area. It is the responsibility of the church to

confront principalities and powers by establishing the Kingdom of God first in their own

lives and then by helping others, and thus establishing a witness to the people of God's

Kingdom. Ephesians 3:9-12, “And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery,

which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through

Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the

church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal

purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and

access with confidence through faith in Him.” The victorious Christian life is only available

to those who are willing to engage the enemy. We must exercise the authority that we have

been given, and if we do, victory is assured!

B. SPIRITUAL VICTORY THROUGH CHRIST

A spiritual battle rages for our souls and the souls of all mankind. The struggle is “not against flesh

and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness,

against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12). Our “adversary, the

devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour"”(1 Pet. 5:8); He is the crafty

serpent who, in the opening portion of Genesis, deceived our first parents and enticed them to sin

(Gen. 3:1-15), and he is the dragon and serpent of old in the closing chapters of Revelation,

deceiving the nations and gathering them for war, until he is thrown into the lake of fire and

brimstone (Rev. 20:7-10; Matt. 25:41). The devil disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor.

11:14), but he is full of deceit, evil and darkness (1 John 2:13; Acts 26:18). He is a murderer, a liar,

the father of lies, and there is no truth in him (John 8:44). He deceives the world and blinds the

minds of the unbelieving so that they might not know the Gospel of Christ (Rev. 12:9; 2 Cor. 4:4).

He distorts the Word of God and tries to snatch the Word of God out of people‟s hearts (Matt. 4:6-

7; 13:19). He is the accuser of God‟s people and he seeks to afflict and destroy us (Rev. 12:10-11;

Job 2:4-7). He tempts us, opposes us, schemes against us, and tries to take advantage of us, deceive

us, ensnare us, oppress us and gain a foothold in our lives (Luke 22:31-32; Acts 5:3; 2 Cor. 2:11;

11:3; Eph. 4:27; 6:11, 16; 1 The. 3:5; 2:18; 1 Tim. 3:6-7; 4:1; 2 Tim. 2:26)

1) Christ‟s Power over the Devil!

All around us we can see evidence of the devil‟s activity and impact in people‟s lives. Many are

living in fear, unbelief, anxiety, confusion, oppression, darkness, deception, sin, condemnation, and

so forth. Perhaps you are suffering in some way because of the influence of the evil one. Or perhaps

you see his impact in the life of someone to whom you are ministering. If so, the good news is that

through Christ the power of the devil can be broken! “…The Son of God appeared for this purpose,

that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). God anointed His Son Jesus with the

Holy Spirit and power so that He could do good and heal all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts

10:38). No matter what hold the devil may have in your life or the life of others, that hold can be

[4]

broken because of who Christ is and what He has already done and what He is able to do! The devil

was no match, is no match, and will never be any match for Jesus. “Greater is He who is in you

than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4) Consider the encounters in Scripture between Jesus and

the devil and the demonic realm. In every case, Jesus wins decisively. He overcomes the strongest

of the devil‟s temptations (Matt. 4:1-11; Heb. 4:15). He sets people free of the most severe forms of

demonic possession and oppression (for example, see Mark 5:1-20). He exercises complete control

over evil and authorizes others to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 4:36; 9:1; 10:17-19).

He is fully aware of the devil‟s schemes and rebukes him accordingly (Matt. 16:23). He intercedes

to protect His followers from the devil‟s attempts to ruin their faith (Luke 22:31-32; cf. Heb. 7:25).

And through His death on the cross, Jesus crushes and disarms the devil, triumphing over

principalities and powers, and rendering powerless the one who had the power of death! (Col. 2:15;

Heb. 2:14).

2) Our Victory through the Lord‟s Power

Our strength and victory in the spiritual warfare are in the strength of the Lord and in the strength of

His might (Eph. 6:10). The power working in us is “in accordance with the working of the strength

of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him

at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and

dominion…” (Eph. 1:19-21). His divine power gives us everything we need for life and godliness

(2 Pet. 1:3), and the “weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling

down of strong holds” (2 Cor. 10:4, KJV). We are “able to stand firm against the schemes of the

devil” because we wear the full armor of God (Eph. 6:11-17).God has “delivered us from the

domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have

redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Col. 1:13-14). In Christ we are set free. And if the Son sets us

free, we are free indeed! (John 8:36). Through the power and redemption of Christ we can be set

free from the fear of death and the fear of evil (Heb. 2:15; Psa. 23:4), from oppression (Luke 4:18),

from condemnation (Rom. 8:1), from slavery to sin so that we might be alive to God (Rom. 6:4-11),

and from dead works so that we might truly serve the living God (Heb. 9:14). In Christ there is

deliverance from evil and help in overcoming temptation (Matt. 6:13; Heb. 2:18; Rev. 12:11). And

through Christ we can be sanctified entirely and made whole in our spirit, soul and body (1 The.

5:23). “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and

He will draw near to you…” (Jas. 4:7-8).

C. OUTLINE SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Spiritual warfare is simply put, a war between the forces of God and the forces of rebellion, led by

one of God‟s most trusted created angelic beings, whose name was Lucifer but is, since his fall,

more correctly called Satan. Satan is derived from the Hebrew word meaning opponent.5 Satan‟s

main job as it related to mankind is to accuse God's people. However, his name in the Greek „Devil’

means Accuser or Slanderer. That is, whenever God‟s children stumble and fall, or sin against

God, Satan goes and accuses the Christian before God‟s throne. However, sometimes there need not

be any sin at all for Satan to accuse one of God‟s servants. Additionally, Spiritual warfare is the

process of taking a stand against supernatural evil forces. The foundation for this ideology is having

a belief in evil spirits which are able to intervene in human affairs. Various Christian groups have

adopted practices to repel such forces, as based on their doctrine of Christian demonology. A

common form of spiritual warfare among Christians is prayer in Christianity. Other practices may

5 https/www.markswatson.com/spiritwar.html. Thursday March 6th, 2014

[5]

include exorcisms, laying-on of hands, fasting, or anointing with oil. As the way to understand

spiritual warfare –we have to know the difference between deliverance and spiritual warfare is that

deliverance deal with demonic bondages, and getting a person set free, whereas spiritual warfare is

resisting, overcoming and defeating the enemy‟s lies (in the form of deception, temptations and

accusations) that he sends our way. Deliverance involves the breaking up of the legal grounds, the

tearing down of the strongholds (offensive spiritual warfare), and the casting out demons. Spiritual

warfare on the other hand, is dealing with three key things the enemy sends at us: „temptations,

deceptions, and accusations.

(a) Offensive and. Defensive Warfare: -„spiritual warfare comes in two ways, offensive and

defensive. Offensive warfare is tearing down the strongholds the enemy has formed in your

mind through deception and accusations, and defensive warfare is guarding yourself against

the tactics or schemes of the devil.‟

(b) The enemy‟s three primary weapons: -„there are three things that we can expect from

devil. The Bible tells us that we struggle not against flesh and blood, but against demonic

forces. Ephesians 6:12 “for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,

against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness

in high places.” The three primary things we struggle against include: „Deception,

Temptations, and Accusations.‟

Spiritual War –fall and Origin of Satan!

The existence of a wicked being such as Satan is, in view of our belief in God as being infinitely

holy and yet the creator of all other things presents this inescapable question: How are we to

account for his existence? Skeptics have imagined that the question, who made the devil? Offers an

unanswerable objection to the Christian doctrine of God; but the Bible answers this question clearly

and reasonably.

1) SATAN A FALLEN ANGEL

We affirm this for the three following reasons:

(a) He is of the Same Nature as Angels

The works ascribed to the devil make it impossible for us to conceive of him as being other than

incorporeal. If he were material he would be limited by space; and therefore, could not carry on the

universal works of wickedness ascribed to him in the Bible.

(b) He is the Leader of Certain Angels

In Matthew 25:41 Christ uses the expression, “the devil and his angels.”

(c) A Common Destiny Awaits Satan and These Angels

In the passage just referred to Christ tells us that hell was prepared for both the devil and his angels,

we conclude that these angels of whom Satan is the leader and whose punishment he shall share are

the fallen angels mentioned by Peter and Jude. It seems clear, then, that Satan himself is a fallen

angel. The statement in John 3:44 to the effect that the devil “was a murderer from the beginning”

need not be taken as standing in necessary conflict with the foregoing. The expression “from the

beginning” need not be taken as referring to the beginning of the devil‟s existence. It may, and we

think does, refer to the beginning of human history.

2) ACCOUNTS OF SATAN‟S FALL

We believe we have in the Scripture two fragmentary accounts of Satan‟s fall, we refer to Ezekiel

28:12-18 and Isaiah. 14:12-17. The first of these passages was addressed to the King of Tyre. The

second one was addressed to the King of Babylon. In both of them, but more especially in the first,

[6]

some of the language is too strong to apply to any man. We believe that these passages, like much

other prophecy, have a double reference. This is true of some of the prophecies concerning the

regathering of Israel. Their immediate reference is to the return of Israel after the seventy years of

captivity in Babylon. But they have also a clear ultimate reference to the final regathering of

dispersed Israel at the end of this age. In Matthew 24:4-51 we have a double reference marvelously

wrought together. The reason for this double reference is that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD

was a type of the final siege of Jerusalem just preceding the second advent of Christ to the earth to

judge the world and set up His millennial reign. And, no doubt, the reason for the double reference

in the passages we are considering from Ezekiel and Isaiah is that the kings of Tyre and Babylon

were taken as types of "the man of sin" (2 The 2:3,4), the "beast" of Revelation (Rev. 13 and 17),

who will be but a tool in the hands of Satan. Therefore the words of the prophets look beyond these

kings to the dominating power back of them; thus addressing Satan through his representatives. We

have other instances where Satan is thus addressed. In Genesis 3:15 Satan is addressed through the

serpent, his tool. And in Matthew 16:22, 23 Satan is addressed through Peter in whom Christ sensed

the spirit of Satan.

(d) References to Satan in His Unfallen Condition

„Thou sealest up the sum (or measure), full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Thou wast in Eden,

the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond,

the beryl the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the

workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was in thee: in the day that thou wast created they were

prepared. Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth: and I set thee so, so that thou wast upon the

holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast

perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.‟6

(e) References to the Fall of Satan

„By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned:

therefore have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God; and I have destroyed thee, 0

covering cherub, from the midst of stones of fire. Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty;

thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground; I have

laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee. By the multitude of thine iniquities, in the

unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries; therefore have I brought forth a

fire from the midst of thee; it hath devoured thee, and I have turned thee to ashes upon the earth in

the sight of all them that behold thee.‟7 „How art thou fallen from heaven, O Day-star, son of the

morning! How are thou cut down to the ground that didst lay low the nations! And thou saidst in

thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit

upon the mount of the congregation, in the uttermost parts of the North; I will ascend above the

heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to

Sheol, to the uttermost parts of the pit. They that see thee shall gaze at thee, they shall consider

thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; that made the

world a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; then let not lose his prisoners to their home.‟8

From these two accounts it seems clear that Satan fell through pride. This is also in harmony with

the following Scriptures: “Pride goeth before destruction. And a haughty spirit before a fall.”

(Prov. 16:18) “The bishop therefore must be without reproach . . . not a novice, lest being puffed up

he fall into the condemnation of the devil.” (1 Tim. 3:2,6) From Ezekiel we understand that Satan

6 Ezekiel 28-12-15 7 Ezekiel 28:16-18 8 Isaiah 14-12-17

[7]

held a very high place among the angels in his unfallen state. “Thou wast the anointed cherub that

covereth: and I have set thee so; thou wast upon the holy mountain of God.” Notice that he was not

“an anointed cherub,” but “the anointed cherub.” „Anointed‟ means set apart as a priest to the

service of God. „The anointed cherub that covereth‟ probably alludes to the cherubim that covered

the mercy seat in the temple with their wings.9 This seems to indicate that the devil was the leader

of angelic worship. He probably occupied the place which is now occupied by Michael, the

archangel. But, thanks are unto God, all the work of Satan is overruled by the omnipotence and

omniscience of God and made to work ultimately for God‟s glory and the good of the saints. See

Psa. 76:10; Rom. 15:31; 2 Cor. 12:7; Eph. 1:11. In Peter‟s fall we have an excellent example of

how God is glorified and the saints benefited even through the temptations of the devil that actually

produce sin in the lives of saints. Peter‟s experience in denying Christ made a different man out of

him. At the trial of Jesus he cowered before a little maiden. But on Pentecost he faced the multitude

of the crucifiers of Christ with burning words of condemnation. Peter‟s fall took away his self-

confidence. Thus, Satan, seeking the complete downfall of Peter, as he had that of Job, but sifted

out the chaff and left the wheat. We can see also that Satan‟s afflictions brought greater blessings to

Job in the end.

1) Prepared for Spiritual Warfare

It is very important for born again Christian to be or we must to be prepared for the spiritual

warfare is one of the things that we must to take high attention in order to be a skilled spiritual

soldier against with evil‟s realm. For example, when we read the story of the wilderness journey of

the son of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land (Canaan) –you many see that they experienced a

lot of things on their journey. They were fighting with different nations and even when they close

into the Jordan liver they were fighting with their enemies in order to possess the Promised Land.

They traveled for 40 year from Egypt to Canaan and on the wildness, so God used different

challenges that were facing as the boot camp to prepare these people to be strong and reach all

God‟s promises in their lives, and among of the promises were to possess the Promised Land.

Additionally, in the church of the last days (body of Christ) God has been using different challenges

that we have been facing as the boot camp in order to equip and prepared us to the skilled soldier to

possess all God‟s promises in our lives. Therefore, the wildness as the boot camp to prepare us in

order to strong and skilled Christian believers who can know how to fight and win the spiritual

battle as the way to possess all God‟s promises in our lives.

2) Must Know Your Enemies

Another things that is very important as the victorious Christian must know your enemies, who is

your enemies? That is a good question that you must to answer. We have three enemies that have

been attacking us every day:

(a) Satan: -„as the skilled soldier of God in the Army of God we have to understand very well

about spiritual warfare and who our enemies are. According to the scripture as I mentioned above

that Satan and demons are attacking us - (direct attack from the Satan and demons). So we have to

carry all weapons in order to fight against with our enemies and win the game, we have to

understand that „spiritual warfare as the game between us and Satan and demons, and we suppose to

success and win the game.‟

(b) World: -„in this area we discover that „world‟ is another our enemy in spiritual war. The

word „world‟ means physical on the earth, people on the earth, and world system that control the

9 Exodus 37:9

[8]

world (KOSMOS). Satan has been using these physical things on the world as among of the tools to

be against with us. We are living in the science and technology time, so enemy us these technology

and other physical things on the world to be against with us, these are direct attach from the enemy

through these physical things to rules and enter in the spiritual prisons. We have taken by Satan

because of the lack of understand on the spiritual warfare and which tools enemy use to attack us.

Also, Satan has been using people to attack us because he knows when he used these people it will

very hard for us to understand –and that will be easily to take us and pit in the prisons or slaves.

When you see people are coming against with you, must understand that Satan is on control or he is

fighting against with you by using people. Lastly, „Satan has been using the world system to attack

our Christian faith, such as allowing the homosexuals marriage. We have good example what

happen now for Uganda the president of Uganda to be against on the homosexual and sign/prove

law in Uganda that they don‟t allow homosexual. What happen big nations such as „USA and others

in Europe‟ they are against with Uganda country. The reason why, Uganda has touched the World

System. Again, Satan uses the world system to attack born again Christian on the world.

(c) Flesh: „Other areas of the spiritual war are in our flesh. Enemy within, you have to

understand that normally “human nature is Depraved against God or Nature against God.” These

conflicts between within us are not always direct from the Satanic and demonic forces but

sometimes come from our depraved nature. In other ways I am talking the way we have to control

ourselves (self-management that will help to live the victorious Christian life.

Evil Thought!

- Rationalize –we have to find the reason or clever reception that will helps also in

other ways to be against with bitterness, worn, and bad intention. We must to very

carefully on that thing unless otherwise you may open a door for Satanic and

Demonic forces to attack you.

- Sin of the man is the factory!

Self-Centeredness! –is the human identity. (self-love, self-pity) As the born again

Christian you must very carefully on the control of your self-centeredness; unless

otherwise that can be an open door for the satanic and demonic forces to attack you.

The Armor of God!

„Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you

can take your stand against the devil‟s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but

against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the

spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when

the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to

stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of

righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of

peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the

flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is

the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for the entire Lord‟s people.‟10

[9]

a) Attitude of the Soldier

Positive attitude of the soldier is one of the importances for the victory against with our

enemies. We have to trust our self that we are able to win the battle against the Satan,

demonic forces, and others –because Jesus Christ on the cross was winning and declare the

victory to us.

b) Spiritual Weapons

Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7) “For the weapons of our warfare are

mighty through God” (2 Cor. 10:3-5) USE THE WEAPONS OF THIS SPIRITUAL WAR

THROUGH GOD‟S POWER IN YOU! “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the

devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, (do not

ignore him) steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your

brotherhood in the world.” (1 Peter 5:8-9) “

(a) Attack

- The Name of Jesus:

The name of Jesus is above all other names. “For this reason, ever since I heard about your

faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for

you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the

glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him

better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know

the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and

his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty

strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his

right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and

every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God

placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,

which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1:15-23)

The above scripture is very powerful. It is a biblical prayer that you can pray over yourself

and your loved ones. Very simply it says the following: A believer has access to the same

power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead. Jesus has been placed over all things and

believers have the same authority in his name. “Therefore God exalted him to the highest

place and gave him the name that is above every name.” (Philippians 2:9) The name of Jesus

is above every other name. Whatever problem you may be facing, it has a name and the good

news is that the name of Jesus is above it. Whatever battle you are fighting, the name of Jesus

can be used to give you victory. It is the name that all people, powers and principalities have

to obey. All believers have the power of the name of Jesus available to them. If you are a

believer then you have this power available to you. This is not because of anything that you

have done, but because of everything that Jesus has done. The problem is that it is almost too

simple for people to grasp. We think that we have to somehow earn it or be worthy of it. The

wonderful news is that we don‟t, it is a gift. It is unearned and undeserved, but it is ours

anyway. We simply have to believe. Jesus said that we had to have the faith of a small child.

Small children simply accept things. We have to simply accept the gift of the power of the

name of Jesus and then use it to overcome our problems. What name does your current foe

[10]

have....fear, poverty, cancer, drug addiction, pornography addiction, divorce, anger,

violence.....? They are all just names, names that are below the name of Jesus. If you believe

in Jesus and the power of his name and are submitted to him then you can use his name to

fight whatever battle you are currently fighting.

- Prayer.

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your

prayers for all believers everywhere.” (Ephesians 6:18)

- The Word of Our Testimony:

The word of our testimony is a very powerful offensive weapon that we have. If we could

really understand this, we would testify to those around us all the time. This is one of our

spiritual weapons that the devil has tried to hide from us. This is very dangerous to him.

Revelations 12:11 says, “And they overcame him…by the word of their testimony…” When

we testify about what the Lord has done for us, we overcome the enemy. What we overcome

of the enemy is the "fear, doubt, and unbelief" that he tries to get us with. The enemy doesn't

like it when we share with others about all the things that the Lord has done for us. Testifying

gives glory to the Lord for what He has done. It also creates an atmosphere for the same or

similar things to happen as well. For example, when you testify about a healing or miracle

that you have received, it creates and brings back that same spiritual atmosphere for other to

receive their healing or for them to receive their miracle that they need. By testifying, it also

releases your faith and it builds the faith of the people hearing about it. They will say to

themselves “If the Lord did that for him, He will do it for me.” All kinds of things can

happen when we share about what He has done for us. Try it sometime and see what the Lord

God will do.

- Our Words – Arrows:

Words are things that we don't have a shortage of. They are a powerful offensive weapon

that we have in our spiritual arsenal. They can be used to bind and strike the enemy with.

They can also be used to encourage ourselves and others with. Words can be used to bring

death to the enemy and they can be used to bring life to ourselves and others. Psalm 64:3

says, “…And bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words.” We see in that our

words are arrows. Our tongue is the bow that is used to shoot these arrows. The words that

we speak can bring injury and wounds to the enemy that we are fighting against. Proverbs

18:8 says, “The words of a talebearer (whisperer) are as wounds, and they go down into the

innermost parts of the belly.” Our words (arrows) go into a person being and they cause

injury. The inner most part of the belly is talking about our spirit man. This verse shows us

that our words are spiritual weapons which we can use to fight the enemy within spiritual

warfare. Matthew 12:37 says, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words

thou shalt be condemned.” Jesus is telling and showing us that our words are very powerful.

So let us be careful and watch the words that we speak.

(b) Defense

- The Belt (of Truth):

“Stand firm in the belt of truth buckled around your waist.” (Ephesians 6:14) The belt of

truth involves two places; our hearts and our minds. Truth keeps us secure in Christ and

makes effective all the other pieces of armour. The belt of truth holds our amour in place.

Commit yourself daily to walk in the light of God's truth. “Teach me your ways, O Lord, that

I may live according to your truth!” (Psalm 86:11)

[11]

- The Breastplate (of Righteousness):

“with the breastplate of righteousness in place,” (Ephesians 6:14) - A soldier with a

breastplate goes into battle boldly with confidence. The devil is constantly attacking with

lies, accusations and reminders of past sin. Without the breastplate of righteousness, these

will penetrate your heart. Become aware of who you are in Christ Jesus. Come boldly into

His presence. (Hebrews 4:16)

- The Shoes (of Peace & Preparation):

“For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully

prepared.” (Ephesians 6:15) - Shoes allow us to step freely and without fear while we turn

our full attention to the battle at hand. They aid in our movement and defense. The shoes God

gives propel us onward to proclaim the true peace, which is available in Christ. Prepare

yourself to follow the Lord no matter what.

- The Shield (of Faith):

“Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts

of the wicked one.” (Ephesians 6:16) - The shield not only defends our whole body but also

our armor. The shield of faith has a very specific function, which the Bible makes abundantly

clear: quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Not some but all of them. The shield moves

with the attack no matter the direction.

- The Helmet (of Salvation):

“Take the helmet of salvation.” (Ephesians 6:17) - Satan's target: Your mind. Satan's

weapon: Lies. The enemy wants to make us doubt God and our salvation. The helmet

protects our minds from doubting the truth of God's saving work for us. “Since we belong to

the day, we must be serious and put the armor of faith and love on our chests, and put on a

Helmet of the Hope of Salvation.” (1 Thessalonians 5:8)

- The Sword (of The Spirit):

Put on “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17) - The sword is

the only weapon of offense in the armor, but it is also a tool for defense. Strongholds,

arguments and thoughts are all weapons the enemy uses against us. With the Sword of the

Spirit, God's word, the people are equipped to deal with them all. We need to trust in the

truth of God's Word. Have confidence in the value of God's word. Get a hunger and desire

for it.

- Boots of Peace: - Isaiah 9:6

- The Blood of Jesus:

Another important defensive weapon that we have. The enemy does not like this one. Exodus

12:7, 13 says, (7) “And they shall take of the blood, and strike (put) it on the two side posts

and on the upper door post of the houses… (13) And the blood shall be to you for a token

upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague

shall not be upon you to destroy you…” In these verses, we see that the blood of Jesus is our

token which means: “sign, a distinguishing mark, banner, or warning.” This is like a “No

Trespassing” sign to the enemy. 1 John 1:7 says, “…The blood of Jesus Christ his Son

cleanseth us from all sin.” Revelations 1:5 says, “…Unto Him that loved us, and washed us

from our sins in His own blood.” The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sins, which is

the contamination of the enemy. His blood is our cleansing agent.

- Angels: are ministers of the Lord (Psalm 104:4).

They hearken to the His voice and do His Word (Psalm 103:20). Psalm 34:7 says, “The

angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him and delivereth them.” Psalm

[12]

91:11-12 says, “(11) For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy

ways. (12) They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.”

Exodus 23:20 says, “Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to

bring thee into the place which I have prepared.” The angels here in these verses are our

guardians. They are with us to keep and to protect us from harm. Daniel 6:22 says, “My God

hath sent His angel and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me…” The

guardian angel of the Lord came to protect Daniel from the lions. The devil was trying to use

the lions as a plan of attack against Daniel. The devil is like a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8).

- Wall of Fire:

The “wall of fire” is another important defensive weapon that we have. The enemy knows

that if he gets too close to the fire that it will burn him. Zechariah 2:5 says, “For I, saith the

Lord, will be a wall of fire round about…” The Lord said that He will be a wall of fire that

is around us and the enemy cannot get at us. He doesn't like the fire and he knows someday

soon that hell is where he will be for all of eternity. 2 Kings 6:17 says, “…And behold, the

mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” In 2 Kings 6, we see

that Elisha had a mountain of horses and chariots of fire around him that was protecting him

from the armies of the Syrians.

D. HOW TO WIN IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

The book of Deuteronomy is the recounting of the Law and the works of God among the people of

Israel. In the book of Deuteronomy 11:1-8, Moses is talking to the older Israelites who were

children 40 years earlier, when Israel refused to enter the land of Canaan. “But your eyes have seen

all the great acts of the LORD which he did. Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments...” – in

verses 7 and 8. Make that “every (word)”. We are not just talking about the Ten Commandments,

but about every word “which I command you this day, that ye may be strong”. Write this in your

Bible - We get strength by obedience. The greatest deterrent against satanic warfare is the

knowledge of a life obedient to God. You can stand before God and say, “God, here I am, I'm clean

before you.” It makes you awesome!! I'm giving some simple principles which will teach you how

to win when all hell breaks loose and you are on the backside of the wilderness by yourself. About

27 years ago, I woke up with a fog over my mind and brain. It was like a cloud. I was oppressed. I

could hardly get up. I could not function all day. I thought it would soon be gone. Little did I realize

that I was starting on a seven month journey into the very pits of hell? I was told by the Devil that I

had every kind of disease that my children were young and I was going to die. The church would

never take care of my family. I was destined for failure, my wife would become a beggar, and my

children would grow up bitter against God. He lied to me in every way you can imagine. I was

stomped into the ground by the Devil. I couldn't sleep; I was frightened of everybody. I even moved

my church office to a place where I couldn't be found unless I wanted to be. The only time I had

any deliverance was in the prayer room or when I was preaching. I couldn't afford the luxury of

giving up. One of the greatest ways to survive when difficult things come upon you is to get

lost in service to others. I would literally soar in God while preaching. But when I left the church

and got in my car my hands would begin to shake. I wasn't doing anything wrong. I even repented

of things I hadn't done. But out of that experience, I learned the power of the Word of God and of

standing in obedience to God. I got out the Bible, a large pad of paper, and the big Strong's

Concordance and searched out all the scriptures that dealt with fear, anxiety, depression; any

synonyms of those words. On the left side on my legal pad I wrote the scripture, and then I would

write what that scripture meant, and I would say, “Does this apply to me?” About three weeks into

[13]

the word, where I was looking up all these words, I noticed that this "thing" was lifting off me. I

didn't send to any of the great preachers for prayer.

Let confusion start in a church and it will break up the church. If it isn't dealt with, strife enters and

people become the instruments of Satan, carrying out spiritual warfare with each other. John 10:10,

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy...” The Devil is trying to kill the

spirit of God in us and our relationship with our brothers and sisters and with God. He is trying to

destroy us so that he can win the battle. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:11, that the things which

happened to Israel, "happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition,

upon whom the ends of the world are come." When we begin to read the Old Testament, we aren't

just reading the history of Israel or Judah. We are reading the natural things through which we learn

spiritual methods that defeat and destroy the power of Satan. Remember the base meaning of

warfare is confusion. Warfare is coming. Satan's strategy is to bring us into confusion about God,

His Word, His promises, the church, our leaders, our own expectations, and about Satan, himself. If

this strategy is successful, Satan is beginning to win the battle. If, when the Devil drops on our lives

and starts warfare, we begin running towards natural answers and don't go to the word immediately,

we know we are in confusion. Take the normal precautions, but confess what the word of God says.

Satan wants to replace our love, respect, and faith in God with confusion and strife. Our defense

against his strategy is to understand clearly what Satan‟s intentions toward us are and what Jesus

Christ‟s intentions toward us are. The Devil's work is "to steal, kill, and destroy". Jesus' intentions

toward us are that we might have life more abundantly. We must remember this each time conflict /

battle begins. Any time we begin to feel torment we know that Satan is attacking us.

1) We Learn How to Win In Deuteronomy 11:1-8, God tells Israel how to be overcomers and "possess their possessions".

Notice, He does not start by telling them how to fight the devil. He says in verse 1, (1) Love the

Lord your God with all your heart, and (2) constantly live a life of obedience before God. That is

the two greatest secrets to spiritual warfare. It isn't easy, but that is where it starts. If you aren't

living right, the Devil can come and condemn you, but if you have the proper foundation in God

you can be fearless! The first step in pulling down Satan's "strongholds" is to start with a right

relationship with God. Notice the progression of God's instruction to Israel in Deuteronomy 11:1,

“Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his

judgments, and his commandments, always.” He then reminds them of His past faithfulness to them

(verses 2-7). Past performance inspires faith for the future! God is telling them, "I did it before, and

I can do it again." We need to know that God has done it before. In every generation those who

truly loved and served God found out that He is faithful. We are tied into something that never

fails!

2) The Road Map to Blessing and Victory "Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be

strong, and go in and possess the land; whither ye go to possess it." (Deuteronomy 11:8)

a) “Keep every commandment (word).” This means obedience.

b) “...that ye may be strong.” This speaks of attitude. Strength and success are attitudes. The

main attribute of people that achieve great things in the world is not their intellectual ability,

not their academic achievement, not the amount of money with which they start their

pursuit, it is their determination that says, “Come what may, I will not quit.”

c) “...and go in.” This is action!

[14]

d) “...and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it.” This is the ultimate result.

Deuteronomy 31:6-8 deals with the attitude that produces victory. Moses said to Israel: "Be strong

and of a good courage." You can't adequately prepare to come against the Devil until you make the

decision that God wants you to win. God has not made us to be losers! We are His children. The

Devil might trouble us, but we are going to win.

3) How is all this Victory Possible? "...for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

(Deuteronomy 31:6) Joshua's Part: "Thou shall cause them to inherit it." As a leader we have to

inspire our people to believe they can live in victory. Our people have to face the Devil every week

at work or in the home. They can't afford to leave the church defeated. We are winners!

As the natural, so the spiritual: good leadership and an obedient lifestyle will produce quicker

victories in our times of spiritual warfare. Have faith, God is not going to forsake us. Do not

become dismayed (agitated). In the Greek language of the New Testament, the word 'dismayed'

means 'agitated'. The Devil wants us to be agitated. Jesus is our example: In His contest with Satan,

Jesus did not exercise the power of deity.

a) He used that which is our weapon, the Word of God (Luke 4:1-13)

b) He cast out demons "by the Spirit of God". (Matthew 12:28)

Notice the divine combination of the word and the Spirit. That is the way creation took place in the

beginning - the Spirit brooded over the face of the deep, but nothing happened until God spoke the

word. The power of the Holy Spirit in our lives (1 Corinthians 2:1-5); Paul did not depend upon

words of wisdom, intellect, or academic achievement. He depended upon the demonstration and

power of the Holy Spirit. We, too, must have the person, power, and revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Finally, our power over Satan begins with our relationship with Jesus! Jesus said to His disciples,

"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore..." (Matthew 28:18-19). They

could "go" and win disciples out of Satan's kingdom because they had a relationship with Him who

has all authority in Heaven and earth - and over Satan! God is ready to punish "...all disobedience,

when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)

E. HOW TO BE VICTORIOUS IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Ephesians 6: 10-17 –Jesus Christ, “the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works

of the devil” (I John 3: 8). The work Satan has been doing from the dawn of creation is described in

this same verse: “…the devil sinned from the beginning.” In the wilderness after His baptism, Jesus

met Satan one on one and won. In that wilderness confrontation the devil attacked Christ at the

three most vulnerable points we human beings have. In each instance Christ applied Scripture and

gained the victory. Throughout His life on earth, these two supernatural superpowers met time and

again and in each instance Christ emerged the victor. Their last confrontation was on Calvary‟s

cross. There it appeared Satan finally body-slammed Christ and won the ultimate victory as

symbolized by the tomb in which the lifeless body of Christ lay. Christ was indeed down - but

decidedly not out. In the resurrection He conquered sin, death, and the devil. Summarily,

Colossians 1: 13, 14 say: “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into

the kingdom of the Son of His love, in which we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness

of sin.” Our text says we are engaged in spiritual warfare. The forces of evil are organized for this

conflict. Note

[15]

a) THE DESIGN

“PRINCIPALITIES,” translates the Greek term “ARCHON.” The title emerged in the time

of Pericles. It was a reference to the most powerful leader in the land. Satan of course is the

Commanding Officer. He has organized his demonic horde for spiritual warfare. An archon

is the equivalent of a field general in charge of a certain operation. Principalities are very

powerful and authoritative demons.

b) “THE RULERS OF DARKNESS OF THIS AGE”

Translates the Greek word “KOSMOKPATOR;” The word comes from a combination of

two words. KOSMOS meaning world or universe, and KRATOR meaning ruler; Literally,

“world rulers of darkness” These are the devil‟s special forces. They are assigned to work

on world rulers and important people in society.

c) “SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES”

Actually means “the spirits of evil in the heaven lies.” This is that massive horde of demons

that still work on all of us. This is the rank and file of demons that perpetually attack

believers. Confusing the issue is the fact Satan often masquerades as an angel of light. His

demonic horde is also composed of masters of deceit. They even have the capacity of

performing “signs and wonders.” Christ encountered one of these deceivers in the

Gadarenean demoniac who had the capacity to speak. Such a demon is called an

EGGASTRIMUTHOS demon, which means a ventriloquist demon. How then are we mere

mortals to combat this awesome force?

d) THE DEFENSE

When Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit penned our text in Ephesians 6, he was

in prison. Perhaps he was glancing up at a Roman guard and observing various parts of his

uniform as he described our defenses. Roman praetorian guards personified the power of

Rome.

(a) STAND THEREFORE HAVING GIRDED YOUR WAIST WITH TRUTH (Vs. 14).

The waist is a vital and vulnerable midsection of the torso. The Roman soldiers wore

a wide leather belt not unlike those worn by weight lifters. It was to support and

strengthen abdominal muscles in time of battle. This belt was also utilitarian.

Attached were loops, hooks, and rings which held such items as a length of rope, a

sword, a mace, a sack carrying food and other functional items. Being around the

waist made these items immediately available. The Greek word translated “truth” is

ALETHEIA. It signifies that which lies at the base; the real essence of the matter. It

is a reference to doctrine. Knowledge of doctrine is essential to survival in spiritual

warfare. If we are going to confront the devil, “the father of all lies,” we must do it

with the truth.

(b) THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (VS. 14B) the breastplate of the Roman

soldier covered only his shoulders and vital organs. It didn‟t cover the arms as that

later worn by British knights. The arms were free for protection and productivity.

The righteousness referred to here is the righteousness of Christ. Our righteousness

is referred to as “filthy rags.” Rags make poor armor. The Greek word

DIKAIOSUNE, here translated “righteousness,” in old English was translated “right

wiseness.” The spelling conveys the meaning. It meant to be right with God the

Father by having the righteousness of Christ applied to your account.

(c) HAVING SHOD YOUR FEET WITH PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF

PEACE (VS. 15). The type sandal worn by a Roman soldier was known as a

[16]

“Caligula.” It was very much like our modern sandals with the exception that it had

iron cleats not unlike a track shoe. It enabled the soldier to be sure-footed. The

soldier could be on the offensive by moving quickly without fear of falling.

Believers are to be on the offensive if we expect to win in our spiritual warfare. our

offense is “the gospel of peace.”

(d) THE SHIELD OF FAITH (VS. 16). Faith is our shield against the fiery darts of the

devil. This depicts believers as under attack. Faith is our shield. The fiery darts are

from “the wicked one.” This translates the Greek HO PONEROS meaning a specific

adversary, the devil.

(e) THE HELMET OF SALVATION (VS. 17). Certain characteristics of salvation are

depicted by the Roman helmet. I saw one of these exquisitely crafted helmets in a

Roman museum. Some characteristics associated with salvation:

It was lined with leather. The first reference to animal skins being used as

clothing related to Adam and Eve immediately after their sin. The lamb was

slain, pictorial of the ultimate slaying of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.

The helmet was made of brass, a strong metal affording protection. Christ

secures and protects our salvation.

On top of the helmet was a small crown emblematic of the authority of

Rome. The Christian is crowned with the crown of righteousness provided by

Christ.

The helmet had a chin strap to hold it secure. Christ is our security.

(f) THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT (VS. 17). When Rome set out on world conquests

they used long awkward swords and lost most battles. They then changed to a short

two-edged sword called a “machaira.” By engaging in close-up hand to hand combat

they conquered vast regions. “The sword of the spirit” is in the genitive case eaning

“the sword from the Spirit.” “The Word of God” is the sword.

(g) PRAYER (VS. 18) No believer is ever successful in spiritual warfare that does not

have a vibrant prayer life. It is our means of reporting to our Commander and

receiving orders from Him.

F. CONCLUSSION

In conclusion be strong –not in yourselves but in the Higher Power, in the strength of his boundless

might. Put on the Supreme One's complete Armour so that you can successfully resist all tyrants'

methods of attack. For our fight is not against any physical enemy: it is against organizations and

powers that are immaterial. We are up against the unseen power that controls this world of

ignorance, and spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil. Therefore you must wear the

whole Armour of the Higher Force that you may be able to resist evil in its day of power, and that

even when you have fought to a standstill you may still stand your ground. Take your stand then

with Truth as your belt, Goodness your breastplate, the Good News of Peace firmly on your feet,

Enlightenment as your helmet and in your hand the sword of the Spirit, the Word of the One

Quintessence. Above all be sure you take Reasoned Confidence as your shield, for it can quench

every burning missile the enemy hurls at you. Pay homage to the One at all times with every kind of

spiritual meditation, keeping alert and persistent as you give reverence to all men and women

fighting on the side of enlightenment.
