Welcome to ’20 Technique-‐Heavy Rock/Fusion Licks’. First of all, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to purchase this package. I can’t believe this is the 4th one already! The idea behind this package was to try and gather some of the most demanding yet at the same time melodic, 8 bar lines I can play over the two tracks using various modern techniques. You will see I’m using a lot of hybrid picking, legato, sweep picking, alternate picking – even some economy picking! With regards to the two backing tracks, I’ve aimed to go for a more ‘fusion’ style with a few changes in both – highlighting a Melodic Minor flavour. You can treat them as simply static m7 chords and play all your minor pentatonic lines over them if you want, but for those that want to truly outline the changes, make sure you’re outlining the Melodic Minor sounds over the m(maj7) chords. If you’re not familiar with this, I actually cover the Melodic Minor scale in my other package One Chord Grooves: An Improvisation Class – so be sure to check that out. Anyway, that’s enough of me typing here! Let’s get stuck in! If you have any questions with regards to this lesson package, or if you’re interested in one-‐to-‐one Skype lessons, please don’t hesitate to contact me over at my website. Thanks again! www.jack-‐gardiner.com Jack Gardiner
