NIRF 2020 The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.

This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.

Parameters 2017-2018 (NIRF 2019)

2018-2019 (NIRF 2020)

Rise/Fall in Score

Teaching & Learning Resources (TLR) 28.65 30.34 +01.69 Research Productivity Impact and IPR (RPII) 0.11 0.13 + 0.02 Graduation Outcome(GO) 26.03 25.76 - 0.27 Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) 25.73 21.78 -3.95 Perception 0 0 0

NIRF conducts has their own survey method for some parameters and some scoring is to be performed with data

provided by the institute. Research work is examined by NIRF with the help of eminent journals Scopus etc .

Institute lacks in Research and Productivity Impact and IPR sections, also we find rise in Teaching and Learning

methodologies and resources used, workshops taken during semesters.

Outreach and Inclusivity is decreased because of less number of admissions through different universities and most

important we are unable to get points in Perception criteria which consider below parameters:

Peer Perception: Employers & Academic Peer (PR) : 100 marks • This is to be done through a survey conducted over a large

category of Employers, Professionals from Reputed Organizations and a large category of academics to ascertain their

preference for graduates of different institutions. • Comprehensive list will be prepared taking into account various sectors,

regions, etc. • Lists to be updated periodically.

P a g e | 11

Scores of Institute Activities graded by NIRF

Steps to increase perceptions:

1) Building a communications dept:

The responsibility of this dept. is to communicate to the World what the institution, its alumni, its

professors are doing. Their achievements, their work and the impact they have had.

This can be done via any medium whether it is social media, email, TV, radio or print. Whatever works and

fits the institutions budget.

2) Building a Milestone Campaign:

Institute has to decide long term and short term milestones and accordingly carry out the plans and the

same milestones once achieved has to be represented in the society for the better knowing about the

Institution and what they are doing from last 36-37 years .

Planned and informative awareness about is to be reflected in Individuals mind.

3) Building your digital presence

Updating each and every important activity on a website and producing share worthy content keeping

your current and prospective students in mind.

When we begin to share and relate to this content it creates a ripple.

It will increase Facebook followers/ Social media followers improve but also notice an impact on Brand

Loyalty.

4) Perception and View about the Institute has to be changed positively

5) Identifying strengths and weakness of the Institute:

Improving strengths and correcting weaknesses of the area

Weak areas has to be identified and suitable faculties has to be appointed to improve it .

P a g e | 12

NIRF Parameters and marks

To Enhance NIRF Ranking following steps can be carried out:

Students with High MHT –CET, JEE,NEET and HSC score will be admitted to the Institute

Passing Percentage of both UG and PG students has to be increased

Students admitted and students passed within time ratio have to be maintained

No. of students admitted in a specific year and no. of students placed after 04 years has to

To be maintained

Median salary of the placed students have to be increased

No. of students going for higher studies in eminent universities have to increased

Efforts has be taken to admit students from eminent universities for PG courses

No. of students , faculty patents if any has to be applied

No. of faculty research publications has to be increased

Research Center and Ph.D. facility is added advantage

Funding Grants for the Institute projects from reputed organizations is required

No. of funds for academic Improvements is required

What is Deep Learning: Deep learning is a machine learning technique that teaches computers to do what

comes naturally to humans: learn by example. Deep learning is a key technology behind driverless cars, enabling them

to recognize a stop sign, or to distinguish a pedestrian from a lamppost. It is the key to voice control in consumer

devices like phones, tablets, TVs, and hands-free speakers. Deep learning is getting lots of attention lately and for

good reason. It’s achieving results that were not possible before. In deep learning, a computer model learns to

perform classification tasks directly from images, text, or sound. Deep learning models can achieve state of- the-art

accuracy, sometimes exceeding human-level performance. Models are trained by using a large set of labeled data and

neural network
