AbstractThe article discusses the representations of fops – male and female – in eighteenth-and early nineteenth-century Russian folk pictures (lubok) from the Rovinskii collection. Most of these range from frivolous to blandly erotic, though they are in-variably humorous and mainly serve satirical purposes. With a number of il-lustrations the author demonstrates the German, French and English origins of these pictures.Keywords: Libertinage; Dandyism; Lubok
