Summary

(2) STELVIO holds the best credentials in the race and never disappointed in two previous starts at Saint-Cloud. He looks the obvious pick in this opener. There was just a nose between (1) RANCO and (7) AKYO at Cagnes Sur Mer in their last start but the latter has a seven pounds advantage today and it is unlikely to see Stephane Pasquier's partner reverse form with his rival.

His outside draw should have little incidence on this sort of surface and he can be preferred to (5) YES HE CAN who seems on a fair mark on handicap debut. (9) PHAROA will not be long before opening his account. (6) GAIUS likes the ground and the course.

Title holder (4) SOLEIL MARIN comes in the race in the same shape as last year and will once again finds his preferred surface. He will surely take a power of beating but it may be wise to keep a close eye on the smart (7) EDISA who has been supplemented. (9) SIMONA relishes the ground. (6) SPIRIT OF NELSON cannot be left out of the equation.

Summary

Anything can happen in this contest. (1) LADYSANE has some solid form-lines and looks a serious player despite having to carry the top-weight. (4) TARIDA has shown a lot of ability in the provinces and comes from an in-form yard. (8)

REVOLVER EYES seems well treated in her first run in a handicap. (6) RED FIFTY can spring a surprise.

(2) CLEOSTORM has enjoyed a productive winter on fibresand and will be interesting to follow back on turf this time around. 7. MAKSLEW - Has shown ability on fibresand but unknown quantity on heavy ground

8. KIROZ - Not much room for maneuver off current mark but always gives everything he has and can get a look in

9. SHOWMETHEMOON - Won two small races in the provinces last summer but has gone cold in three subsequent starts

10. RESTLESS - Modest in recent starts but top-connections and cannot be totally ruled out

11. RAJSAPOUR - Long time maiden who seems regressive since the turn of the year. Not a priority

Summary

(1) SOUVERAINE ELUSIVE has done nothing but improved in the second half of 2019. She is very effective on testing ground and gets a tentative vote in this last race on the card. (3) AMAZONYA comes in on the back of a good effort at Chantilly and is worth considering back on turf. (8) KIROZ and (6) FAITH OF HOPE also look interesting.

7. HAMOUR TEJY - Improving last-start winner who is likely to have more to offer. Leading contender

8. HUMOUR WILLIAMS - Promising sort with solid form credentials. Likely to give a competitive account

9. HONNEUR DU CEBE - Talented colt with useful form references. Unlikely to be far off the mark

8. DONATO BELLO - Last-start winner when reverting to the harness code. Usually consistent in this class of event

9. DOLCE VITA FOLLE - Consistently acquits herself well when unshod which isn't the case here. Others preferred

10. EQUIN D'AVRIL - Capable but unreliable. Does tend to pop up on occasion but others make more appeal

11. DASKA DE L'OCEAN - Has shown signs of a return to form in last two starts. One to note returning from a break

Many with a winning chance in this lineup, though none more so than last-start scorer (11) FLAMENCO DE CHENU who could be worth following again. (10) FIRSSO WIND finished behind the selection recently and should keep him honest again. However, both (9) FLYNN STAR and (7) FLEUR DU LANDRET are capable of doing the same reverting to this code after prep runs under harness. 7. BASIC INSTINCT - Got back in the game late last season. Barefoot for comeback and given his liking for Reims must be respected

8. DIGITALE PRIOR - Not the most dependable but won a Nantes Class D last time out and makes her Reims debut with a decent chance of doubling her money

14. CARIOCA - Surprisingly below par in better company at Caen two weeks ago but has a superb entry here and looks a major player

Just as good in one discipline as he is in the other (6) DEVIL OR ANGEL is barefoot for his return to competition and his aptitude for racing right-handed may just give him the advantage over (8) DIGITALE PRIOR who latterly imposed at Nantes with a 25m disadvantage. (9) CHIPIE DES BORDES prepared for this at Amiens and with shoes off again can put on a good show. (14) CARIOCA can be forgiven his recent Caen performance and must be afforded respect.

1. FRISSON DU QUESNE - Unremarkable trotter but raced better last time than the result would suggest. That said he will still have his work cut out

3. FORREST DU ROCHEL - Got back in the game with a solid effort at Graignes last month. Is confirmed going clockwise and must not be overlooked

4. FOLLOW ME RANAIS - Mixes the good with the less good but left a decent impression at La Capelle on just second start back and will have his supporters

5. FIRE BIRD - Modest type that seldom makes his presence felt and is not about to buck the trend

6. FEU DES PRES - Has done nothing of note since imposing at Strasbourg early November and has little liking for Reims

7. FLEURON - Goes well right handed but has never delivered here and latest efforts leave a lot to be desired

8. FLASH D'OCQUE - Unbeaten in two starts going clockwise this year. Steps up in class but still looks a player

9. FRISKY BLACK - As complicated as they get but a tough nut on a good day. Reportedly in decent shape and with application can win this

An open an event as one could imagine but there has been much talk of (9) FRISKY BLACK who is well behind in earnings. He may be new to the venue but on good behaviour should logically have the measure of recent Strasbourg second (14) FUTUR ESPOIR who gave a good account here during the autumn.

Twice in the frame in four starts at Reims (11) FLASH DU QUESNE acquitted himself well on his recent re-entry and with shoes off for the occasion should not be far off the mark. (12) FIL ROUGE finished ahead of him last weekend and must be taken seriously.

4. FEE D'UN MEC - Useful on a good day and pleased on lone appearance here but unraced for two months and will need the run

5. FEERIQUE GIRL - Blows hot and cold but showed improvement at La Capelle recently. Will be fully fit by now and has a role to play on Reims debut

6. FRESKA DE VANDEL - Still a maiden from 28 but has evident ability. Returns to racing barefoot and with application should not be far off the mark

7. FLOWER ETOILEE - Not the most reliable but showed improvement at Amiens three weeks ago and should have a good hand to play

8. FILEA DE LA BESVRE - Seldom far from the action when she can stay in stride. Finished a place behind (1) FIONA D'ELCHE last time and given her liking for Reims must be respected

9. FINE DU COLOMBIER - Delicate but useful in both codes. Just one race in her since the break though and with shoes on not an obvious choice

10. FOR EVER MENCOURT - Has pleased in just one of three here. Yet to lose her maiden tag and is not about to spring any surprises

11. FRISE PONT VAUTIER - No champion but reassured connections at Amiens last time and in similar form can get a look in

12. FLORE DE CENTULE - Delicate but is in her category here. Races first time barefoot and can start to get back in the game

13. FAMILY SAUTREUIL - As tricky as they come but has bags of ability. Is proven here and on good behaviour can impose

14. FEDRA - Unraced since the autumn but has already won here. Hind shoes off for comeback and looks main threat to (13) FAMILY SAUTREUIL

Summary

Often indisciplined in the final stages of a race (13) FAMILY SAUTREUIL is nevertheless a quality mare and can win this if she replicates her last start here. She will however be pitted against the returning and more dependable (14)

FEDRA who has already established her Reims credentials. Matthieu Abrivard persists with (6) FRESKA DE VANDEL despite her capricious nature in the belief that her return to successful ways is only a matter of time. (5) FEERIQUE GIRL showed improvement at La Capelle last weekend and can again finish in the mix.

1. GOOD VIBRATIONS - 24 races and still a maiden. Showed improvement in the other code recently but still not an obvious choice

2. GLORIA DE JOUDES - Clearly capable and has form at Reims but in current form is unlikely to shake things up

3. GRAVALETA - Lightly raced raced but has ample ability. Pleased on comeback at Caen but goes shod this time and others preferred

4. GLOIRE DES LOYAUX - Regularly a handful but can trot. Winner of her only start when unshod all four and can make up for recent ridden sanction

5. GENTLEMAN COGLAIS - Moderate sort that has been encouraging lately but in this company will have his work cut out

6. GEMME CASTELETS - Respectable filly that won her only right handed start but unseen since late October and will need the outing

7. GOLD FLY - Sanctioned as often as not but won in very good order last time. In better company on this occasion but still has a lot to offer

8. GELA DE BELLOUET - Complicated but has talent to burn. With better luck could well have won last time and is more than capable of making amends

9. GRAND ROI KALOUMA - Never far from faulting but has bags of ability. Goes well racing clockwise and with application will be no easy touch

10. GAMELY - Showed considerable promise at three before going off the boil. Has raced just once in last nine months and others easier to back

11. GIVE ME DE HOUELLE - Versatile type that was never at his ease at Laval but should appreciate Reims profile and can give this a good go

12. GRIZZLI DE LOUCAS - Just one win in nine but always gives his best. Shoes on this time though and best to wait

13. GIPSY STAR - Erratic but gave a decent account at Vincennes. Unlikely to spring any surprises but can still get a look in

14. GAMIN DU LERRE - Twice a winner in three starts when barefoot. Takes on a good bunch here but should still acquit herself competitively

Summary

(8) GELA DE BELLOUET may not be the easiest of horses to handle but she showed her form in Paris last time out and with decent references going right-handed she should be able to wrap this up. She will be up against the good (9) GRAND ROI KALOUMA but Duvaldestin's gelding still looks second best. (4) GLOIRE DES LOYAUX has never failed to make her mark when focused and

returns to the harness code barefoot and with a lot to offer. (7) GOLD FLY opened his 2020 account by a decent margin at Amiens and looks similarly competitive.

4. EPSON DU VIVIER - As complicated as they come but has ample ability. Returns to the provinces after a wasted stint in Paris and with application will not be far from the action

5. ELISE DE BEYLEV - Unremarkable mare that has never delivered in the ridden code and will have few takers

6. DONA DE BEYLEV - Very hard to knock under the saddle. Barefoot for return to the discipline and looks competitive for a cheque

7. CARABI DU JACKY - Is proven under the saddle but has raced just once since last summer and will be rusty

8. ELEGANTE CRAVACHE - Remarkably consistent in both codes. Made an excellent comeback two weeks ago and can impose this time

9. ETINCELLE DE ROCHA - Has raced very modestly in both codes for some time and will have few takers

10. CASH DU DEZERT - Hardy sort that always gives his best. Takes a dip in category and looks a decent place chance

11. DIVERGENCE - Has merit but sanctioned on lone ridden start and unlikely to spring any surprises

12. ELOI DES EPINES - Serious servant under the saddle. Showed his form at Nantes last time and on good behaviour can win this

An excellent campaigner in this branch of the business (12) ELOI DES EPINES could well have imposed last time had he not faulted but with application can set the record straight and defeat the ultra-consistent (8) ELEGANTE CRAVACHE who races barefoot after having made a fine re-entry at Cholet a fortnight ago. (10) CASH DU DEZERT drops back down the class ladder after having acquitted himself well in a good bunch at Amiens and can make the frame this time. (4) EPSON DU VIVIER is never far from losing his action but has decent provincial references and must be afforded respect.

5. HANDSOME DREAM - Respectable in all three so far but has yet to show any exceptional aptitude and can be passed over

6. HERMESIA ERMITAGE - Gave a fine account of herself on debut at Agen a month back. Comes here fresh and is not incapable of opening her account

7. HEMA DU BOIS MORIN - Good future prospect that caught the eye on debut ten days ago. Will have come on for the run and can impose

8. HOLBOX D'EM - Pleased in qualification last summer. Acquitted himself well on Paray debut a fortnight ago but still no more than a minor place prospect

9. HOVANISA MAG - Modest filly that showed improvement in a Vincennes claimer last time out but off since November and in this company has no realistic chance

10. HAPPY DU LION - Unexceptional type that has placed just once in six. Has not been seen out since December and will need the race

11. HERMINE CAPTAIN - Has placed just once in five to date but has evident ability. Going right handed may prove just the ticket. Minor place chance

12. HISTOIREMIKA - Complicated but has shown potential. Left regrets at Caen and with application can make the first five

13. HEROINE CASH - Imposed first time out three weeks ago. Takes a step up in category but can still give this a good go

After giving a fine account of herself in qualification at Caen (7) HEMA DU BOIS MORIN left a very good impression on her recent debut and may just have the edge over Matthieu Abrivard's promising (6) HERMESIA ERMITAGE who comes here with freshness on her side. (1) HARPAGOS RULES set off no fireworks in

qualification but Gaby Gelormini has been drafted in for his debut and must be taken seriously. (13) HEROINE CASH got off the mark at the first time of asking and while unlikely to repeat she can still put on a good show.
