Peugeot 208 has two innovative, textured body colours on its palette – ICE Grey and ICE Silver -- which look both matte and semi-satin.

Stronger and easier to maintain than classic matte colours, they are both ultra-resistant to micro-scratches and can also withstand frequent washing from either a pressure washer or rollers***. Their inclusion on a mass-production vehicle means they are now becoming much more accessible.

MECHANICAL MOTIVATIONPeugeot offers an extensive range of low emission vehicles; with more than half its worldwide sales being vehicles with NEDC CO2 emissions results of less than 140 g of C02 per km.^ This performance is down to proven technologies of which Peugeot is one of the pioneers.

Economical petrol engines with mixed consumption all under 4.5L/ 100km. The new Peugeot 208 offers a range of latest generation PureTech 3-cylinder petrol engines - all in line with the Euro 6 standard in Europe - guaranteeing performance and economy during use. It also owes its high level performance to optimised combustion and limited friction. Despite offering remarkable performance, these engines are also very economical. They enable a reduction of up to 25% of consumption to a emissions compared to a 4 cylinder engine of the same power.^ Peugeot just received the International Engine of the Year Award for its 3 cylinders Turbo PureTech engine. The engine was named best in the 1 litre to 1.4 litre category.*

EAT6 automatic gearboxThe 1.2 litre PureTech engine with Stop & Start technology fitted to Peugeot 208 features the EAT6 six-speed automatic gearbox with Quickshift technology for quick, smooth gear changes and multiple gearshifts.

Its energy efficiency is impressive, almost matching a conventional manual transmission through reduced internal friction and a combination of torque converters that lock whenever necessary to prevent slipping.

This brings about a difference in emission compared to a manual gearbox of just 1g/km of CO2, (with the same tyres), making this version very well positioned in terms of enjoyment and fuel economy.*

EQUIPMENTThe Peugeot 208 features an extensive array of safety and driver-assist technologies.

Active City Brake*Active City Brake technology helps reduce the severity of accidents or prevent them entirely should a driver not take any avoiding action in urban driving conditions at speeds below 30km/h. A short-range laser sensor (Lidar) at the top of the windscreen detects obstacles – such as a vehicle ahead – either moving in the same direction or at a stop and automatically applies full braking to either avoid a collision or limit the consequences of one by reducing the speed and severity of the impact. In some cases the system can bring the car to a complete stop, preventing a collision with the vehicle in front.

AirbagsSIX airbags – two front, two front/side and two front/rear curtain airbags – increase occupant protection in a collision.

ESPAll Peugeot 208s have Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard. Its features include Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-lock Braking (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

Cornering fog lamps**When the turn indicator is activated or when the steering wheel is at a certain angle, this function illuminates the beam of the front fog light closest to the bend to illuminate it.Cornering fog lamps operated with the headlights dipped or on high beam when the car is travelling under 40km/h. The system operates in city driving situations, on winding roads, at road junctions, while parking and in other situations.

Park Assist and reversing camera*The reversing camera automatically activates when reverse gear is selected and the image displayed on the centre touchscreen. The system detects hidden objects when reversing. It can be paired with Park Assist, an active parking aid that detects parking spaces and provides assistance getting into and out of them. It automatically controls the steering and gives the driver visual and audible feedback.The driver does not steer the car but does manage the accelerator, brake, gearbox and clutch (if the car has manual transmission).
