HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN

BY SSSSO MANIPUR

DURING THE PERIOD 2016-17

SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES :

State Level Ladies Day Celebration held on 19th November 2016. Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon'ble Governor of Manipur inaugurated the Sai Exhibition organized by Mahila Vibhag, SSSSO Manipur on the auspicious occasion of 9th State Level Ladies Day Celebration held at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound ,Imphal East.

1. IMPHAL EAST DISTRICT :

A public Bhajan was organised by SSSSO, Imphal East, Manipur on 30-10-2016 at Ramjee

Prabhu Mandir, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal. The Programme was carried out with

the active management of Nongmeibung Samithi.

1. Mantripukhri Samithi

On 24th February, 2017 Maha Shivaratri celebration was commenced with Suprabhatam,

followed by Nagar Sankirtan and Aarati. Gayatri hawan was done from 9:00 a.m. Evening

Bhajan session began at 6:00 p.m .

Dated 24th April, 2017 (Sri Satya Sai Aaradhana Mahotsavam) - After the evening

bhajan session and paying tribute to Swami, an economically backward family was

selected and Narayan Seva was done by presenting about 30 kgs of rice, oil, sugar

etc. The rice had been collected by the devotees and Bal Vikas students through

'muthi daan' for a month.

Dated 10th May (Buddha Purnima) - Celebrated in the evening with a bhajan session followed by a discourse on the life of Gautama Buddha. It was ended with Mangala Aarati.

Besides the above mentioned activities the samithi has been actively taking part in various state and district level programmes and functions. Bal Vikas classes are being held in full swing including samithi bhajans and other related programmes.

2. IMPHAL WEST DISTRICT :

Thangmeinand Samithi

“Public Bhajan Session” was organised by Chingmeirong Mandali under Thangmeiband Samithi, Imphal West on Sunday the 23rd October 2016 at Sinam Shyama Devi Town Hall, Chingmeirong Maning Leikai, Imphal West, Manipur.

Bhagawan's Birth Day was celebrated by Thangmeiband Samithi with distribution of Prasadam on 23.11.2016 at Puinya Children Home at Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai, Imphal. A senior devotee of the Samithi narrated a short story on Sathya Sai and told the inmates of the Home that they were coming to celebrate the 91st Birthday of Swami with them. Devotees of the Samithi distributed prasadam to the 54 children of the Home.

Bhajan Programme for Drug Addicts:

Devotees of Thangmeiband Samithi, also organised bhajan session for inmates of 'Shine De- Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre' Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai, Imphal where Swami's message was delivered to the gathering. Prasadam and other eatables were also distributed to the inmates of the centre. The staffs and inmates were very happy to have such spiritual programme. Altogether 36 inmates of the centre and 8 staffs attended the programme.

3. SENAPATI DISTRICT :

Various celebrations were performed.

4. THOUBAL DISTRICT :

Krishna Janmhashthami Celebration, 2016

The auspicious day, the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated on 25th August, 2016 at KhongjomSamithi Mandir. Sai devotees took part on the day singing Bhajans and later, a speech about the celebration was presented by the District President. After offering Aarathi there was prasadam distribution.

5. BISHNUPUR DISTRICT :

One Day Satsang of sevadal members

Bhagavan clearly says that seva is the breath of a devotee. The statement is simple and easy to know its meaning. But, real meaning is not easy to implement in its true spirit. Therefore, it was felt that a satsang in this regard be organized to share the views and opinions of the sevadal members to equip with the same tune as Bhagavan directed. Thus, one day satsang programme was conducted on Sunday, the 13th Nov 2016 at Potsangbam. The participants liked the programme and wanted to continue it in the future.

EDUCATION

1. IMPHAL EAST DISTRICT :

District Level SSS Bal Vikas Meet at Prasanti Mandir, Mantri Pukhri, Imphal East was held on 6th November 2016.

I) MANTRIPUKHRI SAMITHI :

Dated 26th January, 2017 (One Day Bal Vikas Sadhana Camp) - The programme started with Suprabhatam at 5:00 a.m by the Bal Vikas students followed by Nagar Sankirtan and hoisting of the Prashanti Flag. Various cultural programmes were performed thereafter. The programme ended with Mangal Aarati in the evening at around 4:00 p.m.

2. IMPHAL WEST DISTRICT :

District Level SSS Bal Vikas Meet at Sishu Nistha Niketan, Imphal West.

'Bal Vikas Painting Competition' was organized at Thangmeiband Samithi Mandir on the 30th September 2016. One exercise book, pen and biscuits were distributed to the children present. 39 B.V children (Gr.I-11, Gr.II-28) were present in the competition.

3. SENAPATI DISTRICT :

Painting competition was also organised at Kanglatongbi by the Senapati district.

4. THOUBAL DISTRICT:

District Level SSS Bal Vikas meet was held at Khongjom, Thoubal District. Altogether 42 Mahilas, 16 Gents and 21 BV students were present in the Meet.

5. BISHNUPUR DISTRICT :

Training on Painting Skill Of Bal Vikas Students

The gurus of Ningthoukhong Samithi Mandir organized special painting classes at Ningthoukhong Samithi Mandir on respective Sunday classes of Bal Vikas students.It was conducted with a view to cultivate the creative potentialities lying in dormant in the students by way of enhancing their panting skills. They love the sporty way of skill development programme and gurus witnessed the rising spirit of the students in their smiling faces.

SERVICE:

The Service wing of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Manipur organised the State Level Global Blood Donation Day on Sunday, the 18th September, 2016 at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, (RIMS), Blood Bank, Lamphelpat. The programme of Blood Donation Started at 10:10 a.m. and concluded at 1:30 p.m. with 41 Gents and 13 Ladies donating 54 units of Blood.

IMPHAL EAST DISTRICT :

As part of the programme “Swatchata Se Divyata Tak” from 2 nd to 20th October 2016 cleaning of places as decided beforehand was conducted as listed in the following by :-

i) Bashikhong Samithi with 74 members of which 5 were children and 2 youths.

ii) Bamon Leikai Samithi with 58 members including 2 youths and 1 child.

iii) Nongmeibung Samithi with 47 members Repairing work of Mayai Lambi Thong (Bridge)

was also being done during the period from 2nd to 20th October 2016.

iv) Luwangsangbam Samithi : Cleaning of the campus of Kontha Khabam Primary SchoolImphal East District under SSSVJ programme.

Narayan Seva – Distribution of school bags, shoes and shocks to the students of KonthaKhabam Primary School under Vidya Jyoti.

Literary programme by the students of the above school was also done under Vidya Jyoti.

Luwangsangbam Samithi

On 5th February 2017 ,as a part of National Narayana seva cooked vegetarian dishes were served to 15 needy persons out of which 12 are ladies and 3 are gents. They w e r e also gifted with blankets.

Cleaning of Lamlong Bridge

During the national level program of Swachta Se Divyata programme Lamlong bridge was cleaned at its best.

Khurai Samithi

As a part of service activities , blankets were presented to the boys living in the Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi Sanapat, Imphal East .

3. IMPHAL WEST DISTRICT :

Imphal Samithi distributed free drinking water during Ratha Yatra festival of Shree Shree Govindaji Temple which is very famous in Manipur.

Thangmeiband Samithi distributed food to 48 children and 7staffs of Punya Children Home in October 2016.

THOUBAL DISTRICT

With the help of DVBDCS, Thoubal, the SSSSO Manipur, Thoubal District distributed 550 Long Lasting Insectisidal Mosquito Nets to the lactating women, pregnant women and old aged women from the locality of Tekcham. It was held at Panchayat Ghar, Tekcham Bazar on 28th July, 2016.

1.2) SWACHATA SE DIVYATA TAK PROGRAMMES:

"Cleanliness is Godliness", the members of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Manipur, Thoubal district launched the Swachata Se Divyata Tak Programme as per the instructions of the All India President on 7th October, 2016 at Sai Gokulam Mandir, Sapam. All the SSSSO members and the Bal Vikas Students joined the Seva activity which started at 08.00 am with lightning of Lamp by the District President and group singing of Mahatma Gandhis favourite Bhajan "Vaishnav Jan" followed by an inspiring speech by the District President. The work continued for 03 hrs.

The next cleaning drive was carried out on 15th October 2016 at Primary Health Centre, Khongjom where 15 male and 14 female sevadals worked for more than 3 hours to clean the Health Centre. All the unwanted grass of the surrounding was removed and the oor of the building was thoroughly cleaned using disinfectants. Trolleys, tables, chairs, Beds and all other equipments were cleaned too.

The last Swatchata Se Divyata Tak programme was carried out on 19th October, 2016 at Sai Gokulam Mandir Hall. During the seva work, the State President and the State Seva Coordinator (Gents) visited the site. The State President gave a speech regarding the Swachta programme. The programme continued till 11:30 am.

R.K. Sanajaoba Primary School ,Kanglatongbi is covered by SSS Vidya Jyoti programme. Cleaning of school campus was organised by youths of the district.

SENAPATI DISTRICT :

Kaglatongbi Samithi distributed different items containing food and sanitary items to the selected needy people of its area at their homes.

BISHNUPUR DISTRICT :

Skill Development Programmes

In continuance of the self employment programme as seva conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Bishnupur Dist., skill development programmes were organized at Ningthoukhong. As many as 4 programmes were conducted on the discipline of Tailoring and Embroidery, Achar making etc. for 4 days in the month of August,2016 on respective Sundays : 7th,14th,21th,28th of August. Twelve females took part and express deep satisfaction .

SWACHTA SE DIVYATA TAK

In response to the call of much honoured AIP Nimish Pandyaji, SSSSO Manipur, Bishnupur district organised national cleanliness Day from 2nd Oct to 2nd Nov. 2016 under the slogan “SWACHTA SE DIVYATA TAK “at different parts of the district. The ag off programme was done at the Historic INA Martyrs' memorial complex, Moirang by shri K. Nipamacha Singh, veteran International athlete on 2nd oct 2016 and one month long cleanliness month was closed by a Social service Camp at Bishnupur konung mandir on 2nd Nov 2016. As much as ve social service camps were organized at the ve respective samithi mandir areas of BPR district on respective Sundays. Almost all Sai elders, Sai youths and Balvikas students of the district participated in the programme.

Disaster Management :

Disaster Management team of Manipur unit has conducted disaster awareness programme in 5 numbers of CRPF Battalion and a Group Centre in Manipur valley. All the participants were very interested in our programmes and found it useful in their profession.

Youth Activities: Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyoti programme is the major activity of the youth members at present. Some of the activities undertaken under this programme are given in the following.

Cleaning of school campus is done by the SSSVJ volunteers in the school campuses.
