We are looking forward to welcoming them onboard and seeing them work their magic in our kura. Congratulations to Kaino Adams who recently represented Glen Eden Primary at the 2022 Auckland Primary Diving competition. Kaino placed second - an awesome achievement. Ka mau te wehi Kaino! Last week, over three consecutive days, Tui team visited Tiritiri Matangi Island and got to learn about native birds and trees. The trips were a huge success - thank you so much to all the whānau who got tamariki to school at 7:15am and then were there to pick them up at 5:30pm. It was a great effort by all. Huge thanks to Kelly Fakalata who organised this trip. A lot of work goes into the planning of a trip and, in this instance, Kelly had to coordinate train and ferry passes for 130 students as well as sort the Tiritiri part of the trip. Every trip requires a safety form to be filled out, including the medical needs of every student. This was an amazing effort which resulted in 3 fabulous days of learning. Thanks also to all of the teachers and whānau who helped on the trip. Over the past wee while the Education Review Office (ERO) has been working with us at GEPS. Last week our ERO partner did observations in three areas of the school. She was mightily impressed with the quality of the teaching she observed and only had praise for what she saw. We were confident that she would see excellent teaching and learning programmes and were very pleased when she did see exactly that. Thank you to the staff at GEPS who do such amazing work for the students at our kura and who also help each other. Our values of manaakitanga, kairangi, ako and whanaungatanga were clearly evident to ERO and are felt every day at our kura. To all of our GEPS whānau - have a well deserved break. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school in Term 3. Donna Soljan

Nau mai haere mai …… Katana & Lily

Tuatahi a sincere thank you to everyone who has raised money for our AThon. We will share the grand total amount on Friday once all money has been

counted. Every $10 earns a name in the prize draw which will take place on Thursday afternoon. The class with the largest percentage of participants will also win a class prize. Thank you to Eve and Amber who have collected money each day - fabulous parent support for this event.

Tomorrow we have joined two annual events together. For Years 4-6 there is the Break the Ice swim at lunchtime and for the whole school we have PyjamaDay.

Our new rooms are inching ever closer to the finishing line - Rooms 1 & 2 will start Term 3 in our new rooms - Room 2 will move to Room 4 and Room 1 will move to Room 3. We are all looking forward to our new multi purpose space being ready to be used as well.

Garden to Table operates out of the new room and will be able to start again in Term 3. This programme relies on volunteers so we would LOVE it if you are

able to help in either the garden or the kitchen. We have Garden to Table each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1:30-3:00. Please email Kelly Fakalata if you can help - [email protected]

Over the holidays we have some new gardeners starting. You may see Steve and Barbara around our kura.

The trips were a huge success -

thank you so much to all the whānau who got tamariki to school at 7:15am and then were there to pick them up at 5:30pm. It was a great effort by all. Huge

thanks to Kelly Fakalata who organised this trip. A lot of work goes into the planning of a trip and, in this instance, Kelly had to coordinate train and ferry

passes for 130 students as well as sort the Tiritiri part of the trip.

Last week our ERO partner did observations in three areas

of the school.
