1995

• Was founded as a Microcredit program from Food for the Hungry international (FHI).

1999

• Faulu Uganda Was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee.

2006

• Opportunity International Acquired 63% of Faulu Uganda; Faulu Trust and Food for the Hungry became minority shareholders

2008

• Faulu acquired a tier 2 Banking License from the Central Bank.

2009

• Faulu (U) Ltd rebranded to Opportunity Uganda Ltd, to reflect change in ownership.

2011

• Opportunity Uganda Limited changed its name to Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited.

2019• Opportunity Bank received a Tier 1 License to operate as a

Commercial Bank.
