1.1 Introduction

The HiVol 3000 sampler has four different instruments that collect slightly different compositions of particulate and VOC matter.

The instrument must be chosen first by application (what type of sampling/particulates are being monitored for) then what size particulates are being sampled and finally any additional accessories can be added.

The four types of instruments are explained below

HiVol 3000 Standard

Measures general particulate matter

U.S. EPA Manual Reference Method: RFPS-0706-162 for PM10

HiVol 3000 PUF

Measures particulate matter with specialization in organic compounds (pesticides etc)

Flow rate: 10-20m3/h

Quartz Filters PUF (Poly-urethane foam)


HiVol 3000 XAD

Measures particulate matter with a wider variety of organic compounds compared to PUF sampler


Glass cartridge with XAD beads (Hydrophobic Polyaromatic Resin) surrounded by PUF

MegaVol 3000

Measures low concentrations of heavy metals and radioactive particulates


Standard 200mm x 250mm Pallflex Filters with additional Iodine trap available

1.2 How to order a HiVol 3000 Standard Version

ECO-HVS3000 Power: 240V 50/60 HZ – non CE compliant

HiVol 3000 sampler (115V 60 Hz)

E040001 Power: 115V 60 Hz – non CE compliant

What size particulate monitoring is required?

Choose the size selective inlet (SSI) necessary for the application

TSP (Total suspended particulates)

ECO-HVS3000-01 Inlet head for TSP sampling

PM10 ECO-HVS3000-02 Inlet head for PM10 sampling

PM2.5 ECO-HVS3000-03 Inlet head for PM2.5 sampling

How do I download data off the HVS3000?

Airodis Demo Ecotech’s Airodis Demo software is free and can be used for downloading data. It is provided on the green “resources” USB memory stick provided with the sampler.
