The School of Business at Houston Baptist University offers five graduate degrees: the MBA,
the MS in Human Resources Management, the MS in Management, the Master of International
Business, and the Master of Accounting. Although each of these programs stands alone and is
well recognized in the Houston business community, the programs complement each other. This
blending of career experience, technical ability, global experience, and leadership styles enriches
the discussion and provides perspectives few textbooks can capture.
All of the University’s graduate business programs are designed to attract individuals who
are prepared to make the sacrifices necessary to reach their career goals. These individuals set
high standards for themselves, and they understand the value of a graduate degree.
At HBU, we believe real success requires much more than just technical knowledge. We focus on ethics, values,
leadership, globalization and innovation. This is reflected in every course in each of our programs. Long-term success in
the business world is built on a solid foundation of trust, integrity and critical thinking; therefore, we strive to provide
an education as well as an experience that will serve our students throughout their careers.
I invite you to take a closer look at the HBU graduate programs. I will be pleased to discuss any aspect of the
graduate business degrees with you.

“In today’s knowledge-based economy, it is increasingly important that human resources practitioners plan strategically, and Houston Baptist University prepares students for just that. The Masters of Science in Human Resource Management builds strategic HR thinking on a foundation of business fundamentals, readying students for the complex interplay of labor law, shareholder demands and corporate values. No competitive program better fills this niche.” Amanda Peccora MS-HRM ’11Human Resource DirectorIndustrial Info Resources

The MS-HRM curriculum provides students with a strategic business perspective. Students gain an understanding
of the core processes of business organizations, the ability to effectively apply the theory and principles of
contemporary human resources management for improving individual and organizational performance, and a
grounding in the ethical considerations relevant to the business decisions HR professionals are asked to make.
The MS in Human Resources Management offers a global view of the HRM function and helps students
appreciate the impact that HR changes can have on the organization. The curriculum and course content continue
to evolve to provide students with the latest and most valuable knowledge and skills needed by high performing HR
professionals.
The MS-HRM program is cohort based. A new class of students will be admitted each fall semester and will advance
through the program together, taking the same courses on the same schedule. Each cohort attends classes on either a
Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Classes are delivered in the evenings from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.

“The experience of attaining my master's degree at HBU was extremely worthwhile and very applicable to my job. Many of the projects and assignments I was able to take back and use in the workplace. My education has made a significant difference in the level of my performance, my promotability, and my salary! In addition to all of that, I made friends for a lifetime.”
