Anayat Sidhu Got Gold Medal In All India Inter-University Archery Championship
and our Archery Women team was Selected for Khelo India Games.
WUSHU
In Wushu, our college student Shivam Vashisht got Silver medal, and Prashant Gorai,
Deepak Gupta and Rajesh Kumar Chaudhry won Bronze medal in Panjab University
Inter-College Wushu Championship.
In Wushu women, our college student Christina and Sandhya won Bronze medal in
Panjab University Inter-College Wushu Championship.
ROWING
GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar illuminated at Panjab University Inter-College
Rowing Championship which was held at Sukhna Lake Chandigarh from 5th March
to 8th March 2020. Rowers of our college brought laurels by winning six medals in
different event categories.
Gurbani Kaur of B.A 2nd year proved her gut by winning two Gold and two Silver
medals in both 500 meter and 2000 meter single scull (light and heavy weight)
category.
In men category, Gulshan of B.P.Ed.-I grabbed one Gold in 2000 meter single scull
heavy weight category. He also won one Silver in 2000 meter single scull lightweight
category. In 500 meter single scull, he clinched Bronze medal for our college.
Both Gurbani Kaur and Gulshan also got selected to represent Panjab University
Chandigarh Rowing squad for All India Inter-University Rowing Championship.
Dr. Parminder Singh Ahluwalia, University Director of Physical Education and
Sports, congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts of all the stakeholders.

The total number of books, including supplementary reading material, in the library is
49847 (34809 Titles).
College library has a subscription of 32 journals, 49 magazines and 17 newspapers
available in three languages (Punjabi, Hindi and English)
With its INFLIBNET N-List Programme, the library users have an open access to
over 1,50,000 Indian e-books, more than 33 lakhs (titles) world e-books library and
6150 e-journals.
Library has dedicated sections for each filed, along with a section, each on
competitive books, Braille books, CD’s & DVD’s.
A resource room in the basement houses the bound volumes of journals dating back to
1949.
There are three reading halls for girls, boys and faculty members on the ground floor.
The library operations are done with softwares like LIBMAN, OPAC.
To encourage library usage among students, a ‘Best Library User Award’ is given to a
girl student and a boy student separately.
Organize User orientation for students and staff members.
BOOK – BANK
To fulfill the needs of SC/ST and economically weaker students, a book-bank was
established in 1976 with the financial assistance from the University Grants Commission
(UGC).
INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY
REGULAR STUDY CENTRE
A Regular Study Centre (2277) of IGNOU has been working successfully at the
college campus since 2014 under the guidance of Dr. Rajinder Singh, Co-ordinator, along
with more than 60 academic counselors. The aim of this study centre is to provide quality
education to every deprived person of the area at a very nominal fee. Courses like B.A,
B.Com, M.A. (English, Hindi, History, Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration),
Certificate Course in Guidance, Functional English, Business Skills and Bachelors’
Preparatory Programme (BPP) are presently available at the study centre. More than 450
learners have enrolled themselves in the present session.

Mr. Sandeep K. Maurya won Gold Medal in Horizontal bar event in Chandigarh State
Gymnastics Championship held at Gymnastic Hall, Sports Complex, Sec-7,
Chandigarh on 28.02.2021.
Judo (Women)
Our college judoka, Miss Dimple Saini brought laurels to the college by winning Gold
Medal in 70 kg weight category in Haryana Senior State Judo Championship held at
Ockwood School, Bhiwani from 6.3.2021 to 7.3.2021.
Fencing
Our college fencer, Miss Komal participated in foil individual event of 28th Junior
National Fencing Championship held at Rudrapura (Uttarakhand) from 19.3.21 to
21.3.21. She also won gold medal in North Delhi District Fencing Championship.
Football (Women)
Our college women team football Played two matches of 3rd JCT Punjab State
Women’s League 2020-2021 which were organized by the P.G. Department of
Physical Education. G.H.G Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) dated on
10.3.2021 and 18.03. 2021. In the first match, our team played against CRPFFC team
and the second match was against Thekedar ASMFC team, and lost both the matches.
Rest of the matches were not played due to Covid-19 pandemic.
