The Atlanta Blues Baseball Club is 1 of 9 teams competing in the Sunbelt Georgia Collegiate Summer Baseball League (SBL).

The Atlanta Blues are owned by the Field of Dreams Academy, Inc. and its executive managing partners are Terry Johnson and Darren Jones.

The vision for the baseball club is to provide a program focused on player development, elite competitiveness, commitment to excellence, and spirits of courage, integrity, and perseverance.

Established in 2005 and operating in the metro Atlanta area, the Sunbelt League is a wood bat league that showcases talent from over 100 colleges and universities while providing exciting family entertainment to the community

Multiple SBL alum have signed and been drafted by Major League Baseball The mission of the Sunbelt Baseball League is to "provide a first-class collegiate summer program dedicated to helping young college athletes achieve their dreams of playing at the professional level."

Since 2005 the Sunbelt Baseball League has been an official partner of the NCAA, USA Baseball, and Major League Baseball. Our goal is to assist our players achieve their dream of playing at the professional level.

What are the Characteristics of an Atlanta Blues Player?

It is a privilege to wear and represent our team. Every player plays a pivotal player in our team's success!

There are ten (10) key characteristics that all of our players will share:

1. A Hard Worker

Our players who shows up for everything on time and prepared to give his best effortevery time they take the field, whether it's a practice or a game.

2. A Leader

Our players lead in their action and through words. They inspire their teammates toreach another level. They inspire their teammates to give it their all through theirexample. They buy into our program's philosophy and get their teammates to as well.

3. A Great Teammate

Our players support and respect their fellow teammates. They are accepting of all teammembers and assists them in getting better. They embrace their role no matter what itis and does it to the best of their ability, and whatever is best for the team.

4. A Competitor

Our players will do the little things it takes to win. Our players treat practice like it's agame. They want to win every drill, game, and contest. Our players possess a high desireto win; and understand the importance of their preparation to win; great competitorsinspire their teammates to give more.

5. A Good Citizen

Our players represent the organization well on and off the field. Our players give back tothe game and their community. Our players understand that a good citizen means doingthe right thing even when it is the most difficult thing to do. Our players understand theimportance of obtaining a good education.

6. A PlaymakerOur players not only know what to do but can do it. Our players step up and make thebig plays when the team needs it most. They are always making plays. Our players arealways studying the game so that they get better. Our players possess a level ofconfidence that gives him the strength to go out and perform.

7. CoachableOur players who can take constructive criticism. Our players want to be coached andwant to be told what they need to do to get better. Our players are respectful toeveryone associated with our team. They make eye contact with their coaches; andaren't afraid to ask questions. Our players listen to their coach and not the stands.

8. Have PrideOur players have pride in wearing and representing the program's gear. Our player lovepromoting our program. Players exemplify pride through their words and actions. Ourplayers take pride in the little things and doing them well.

\\ 9. Dependable ' Coaches love players who are always on time. Don't be late. Don't miss practices, events, or games. We love players who offer no excuses and no explanations. Coaches want players they can depend on both on and off the court to make the right decisions. Being dependable also means you're always there for a teammate in need.

10. HeartOur players play with enthusiasm courage, and spirit. Having heart means having andplaying for a purpose beyond th' scoreboard. When the score's out of reach, our playerscontinue to play hard to honor the game. They play for purpose that means somethingto them. Our players never give p or give in.

These characteristics separate players from those who are good and great! It's not always about talent, b{ut what you do with that talent. It not always about the most athletically gifted pkrson, but how do you develop your skills. It requires a lot of mental and �hysical fortitude, but your commitment to the journey.

That's why there are only a few players who can play and represent the Atlanta Blues!

Additionally, if a player needs to secure housing, we have a program where our players will be living in a student apartment in midtown Atlanta. The cost will be an additional sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600.00). This cost covers lease, and all utilities in his two/third bedroom unit.

We will play all of our home games at the Georgia State Baseball Complex. Players will have access to track and measure their performance with our Trackman Data package. The cost is $250 for the entire season.

Finally, we have secured some internships for our players. It is an opportunity to gain some professional experience, develop their skills and earn for money! Once they have registered, please have the player send over his resume and cover letter. (We have partnerships with Costco, UPS, Home Depot, and Delta Airlines providing our players summer jobs, and internships) We are committed to fielding a team that will compete at a high level every game and on every play!

The Atlanta Blues will compete in 30+ games (regular season and post-season) over the course of the 2022 SBL summer season.

•The expected demographics of the attendees are as follows:•65% male, 35% female• 70% adults (21 +yrs), 30% children ( < 21 yrs)
