Using these quote bell ringers in your classroom… Thank you so much for purchasing my resource.

These bell ringers are different from my other bell ringer resources, in that they aren’t as specific in the directions, but I did that intentionally.

In my teaching career, I went from 5th grade self-contained to 6th grade ELA, and then to 7th and 8th grade ELA.

Each time I moved teaching positions, I had less and less time with my students and had to adapt my bell ringer time to meet the needs of my students and my classroom.

I wanted bell ringers that I could adapt for use no matter how much time I had. On the next page I list some ideas.

for middle grades

Using these quote bell ringers in your classroom… 1.  Simply have students write the quote down each day,

next to the date. Have discussions if time allows.

2.  Have students write what the quote makes them think about, next to the date. (I did this when I taught 6th grade ELA).

3.  Have students write the quote and what the quote makes them think about, next to the date. (I did this when I was self-contained in 5th grade).

4.  Have students write the quotes down Monday-Friday, and then on Friday, have them pick their favorite, or the one that resonates with them the most, and then write about it. (This is what I do in 7th/8th grade ELA).
