The incubation centre will be called the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. The Coffee Board of India wishes to not only create opportunities for entrepreneurs and employment opportunities but also provide a platform to address the critical challenges faced by the Coffee Sector through this Centre About Niti Ayog: The Government of India has setup the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog. The overarching purpose of this Mission is to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India. The Government realizes that there is a need to create world class incubation facilities across various parts of India with suitable physical infrastructure in terms of capital equipment and operating facilities, coupled with the availability of sectoral experts for mentoring the start-ups, business planning support, access to seed capital, industry partners, trainings and other relevant components required for encouraging innovative start-ups. The Coffee Board of India in its continuous endeavour to encourage entrepreneurship in the coffee sector has taken one more step

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM). The incubation centre will be called the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. The Coffee Board of India

wishes to not only create opportunities for entrepreneurs and employment opportunities but also provide a platform to address the critical

challenges faced by the Coffee Sector through this Centre

About Niti Ayog:

The Government of India has setup the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog. The overarching purpose of this Mission is to promote a

other relevant components required for encouraging innovative start-ups. Accordingly, AIM supports the establishment of Atal Incubation

Centres (AICs) that would nurture innovative start-up businesses in their pursuit to become scalable and sustainable enterprises. The scheme

is known as Atal Incubation Centre.

Mission of AIC CCRI:

1. To create an entrepreneur friendly eco-system for encouraging business innovations in coffee sector.

2. To successfully incubate & graduate a minimum of 100 coffee based startups in the next 5 years.

3. To create an innovative and rewarding startup eco-system in the Coffee value chain to create young entrepreneurs &

employment opportunities for the youth.

4. To address the coffee production related problems through all possible innovations using the entrepreneurial route and

contribute to the increase in production of high quality coffee in India.

5. To address the coffee processing related lacunae through the entrepreneurial route and improve the quality of processing of

coffee in India.

6. To contribute to the increase in consumption of Indian coffee & value added products in the domestic & international markets

including in all major overseas destinations (coffee consuming nations) through the entrepreneurial route.

7. To create value addition & market for all agricultural/ forestry/ horticultural/ animal husbandry products in the Coffee Plantation

Eco –system through the entrepreneurial route.

Infrastructure:

The AIC – CCRI Incubation centre will be located in Coffee Board’s Office in Bengaluru with Incubatee work spaces,

conference rooms, laboratory which will enable post-harvest innovations in coffee and related aspects. A plan is also

being developed for having a Centre for Entrepreneurship Development unit in a coffee growing area for the developing

entrepreneurship in production and processing related aspects.

Events Conducted:

Coffee PAR Soch

AIC – CCRI – CED conducted an online interactive and introductory program – ‘Coffee Par Soch’ on 28th Auguest 2020 to

introduce the planned activities of the Atal Incubation Centre which is coming up in Coffee Board, Bengaluru. Around 40

Participants from various sectors of coffee participated in the program from different parts of the country. Mr. Nagaraj

Prakasam (Angel Investor) was the chief guest of the event which was presided by Shri N Narendra, Secretary, Coffee

board. 10 Mentors having immense experience in coffee and entrepreneurship participated in the meeting introducing to

the participants the critical challenges in coffee sector. This program will act as a prelude to the ‘The Coffee Challenge’

program which will throw open key challenges to all the start-ups to address the challenges in an innovative manner in

the coming months.
