The purpose of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery of Blackhawk is to strengthen the program of Presbyterian Women in each congregation within the bounds of the presbytery, relating them to Presbyterian Women in the Synod of Lincoln Trails and to Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and together striving to fulfill the common purpose:

Members of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery of Blackhawk are all women within the presbytery who choose to participate in, or be supportive of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery in any way. The PWP Coordinating Team consists of Moderator, Vice Moderator, Secretary/Historian, Treasurer, Area Leaders, Communications Editor, Together in Service Coordinator, Peace, Justice, & Hunger Coordinator, and the Search Committee Member of PW in the Synod of Lincoln Trails. These officers meet semi-annually to plan, facilitate, and evaluate the work of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery of Blackhawk. Gatherings are held twice a year. The Spring Gathering includes the annual business meeting including electing and installing members of the coordinating team, as well as a worship service and an inspirational program. For the Fall Gathering, the Host Church plans a unique program which can include worship, workshops, mission, an overview of the Horizons Bible Study, interpretation of the program of PW for women in the congregation and/or a spiritual retreat. Memos is the semi-annual newsletter of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery of Blackhawk. The operating fund is provided for by a contribution from each group of Presbyterian Women in the Congregation; a sum of money equal to 8% of its current year’s pledge to Celebration of Mission Giving.
